Lidl's shampoos and showergels are pretty decent imho!

I've been using their cheap (29p?) showergel to fill my handwash containers but went last week and there was none to be seen. Is it just my shop that's run out?

I use Lidl's dishwasher stuff (separate tabs/rinse/salt) and that's great. Their luxury muesli is superb (I like the blue bag one best). Also buy frankfurters, cold meats, bacon, gammon (when on offer which is often), fig rolls, deodorant, mouthwash.

I like the Lacura day cream and have just tried the serum which is great. I don't buy much in Aldi (needs a special trip) but I like their tagliatelle and tear&share as a treat for OH when I am in there.

It is not the really really cheap stuff I use but the the 'cien' make- white bottles with green or blue or orange trims- the shampoo is like pantene and showergels are great.

  • i love iceland own label tea bags £1 for 80 and often on offer at £1.50 for 2 boxes. im rather fussy about my tea, and have tried all the cheaper ones in tesco and morrisons, and these are lovely. iceland own label economy smoked back bacon, £1 for a good size pack. i also love all the tesco economy shampoos and stuff like that. they are as good as any other expensive ones. keep saving the pennies!!!!
  • I've been searching for ages for decent conditioner for my dried out frizzed up hair and have tried the aussie make, a deep conditioner from boots, frizz ease serum stuff etc.
Bought Asdas own brand jojoba shampoo and conditioner - the ones that come in at about 80p for a litre - 2 weeks ago and its bloody brilliant. :T I leave the conditioner on whilst I'm showering and wash it off just before I get out, does a fab job. I've got nice calm shiny hair now :)

I am a great fan of Aldi - but my particular favourites are the biological washing powder - beats all the top brand names hands down IMHO!
Cat food pouches -my sons VERY fussy cat will now only eat those! the posh brand name he previously preferred is now ignored in favour of the jelly and gravy varieties from aldi.
their German and Italian sliced ham - delicious and much cheaper than most deli counter versions.
Cheese - much cheaper and tastier than the big supermarkets I pay £2.49 for a huge piece of mature cheddar and my husbands fave is their Gouda Slices which are also very reasonably priced.
my honey roast peanuts at 89p a BIG bag!
my oh loves Aldis shampoos and conditioners (unfortunately I am allergic to them! but then I am allergic to MOST shampoos/conditioners and tend to just use washing up liquid to shampoo my hair).
when the grandkids were small Aldis (and Lidls) nappies were marvellous - half the price of the 'brand' nappies and in some cases much better than them!
dear lord I could go on all night! I am just a fanatic Aldi fan (wish they would pay me for every endorsement I have given them on here! I would be rich!)
oh and I must NOT FORGET our lovely new Tv and the Freesat which was an amazing price and my OH and son installed it in just a few hours!
  • I was wondering what products you all use which are as good, if not better than, the more expensive brands because I love getting value for money (don't we all?)

I buy a lot of own brand groceries, and some from the Vlaue ranges :)

We do have an existing thread so I'll merge this so that you can see the suggestions of others.

Aldi's parma ham is exactly the same brand as in Waitrose but (you've guessed it) not exactly the same price.
