I agree with Cheeselady, it can be a bit soggy but its absolutely fine for toasting. I keep a bag in the freezer to use for cheese on toast, baked beans on toast, as fried bread in the occasional naughty fry-up or in recipes...or to take my cousins to feed the ducks!:j
IMO the Value wholemeal bread is much better than their white loaf.GC2012: Nov £130.52/£125

Well I bought a loaf of the Value Wholemeal today and have to say that it was absolutely fine.
I would buy it again and would recommend it.0 -
Apologies if there is already a thread like this but I looked and couldn't find one.
I have recently started using Lidls 2 in 1 washing powder and it is fantastic (cleans well and smells nice) and must be one of the cheapest around. Also love Aldi's Lacura mascara and nail polish, the price of which barely makes a dent in the weekly grocery budget where my £10 mascaras massively did.
I was wondering what products you all use which are as good, if not better than, the more expensive brands because I love getting value for money (don't we all?)"Sealed Pot Challenge" member 1069!

I love Aldi's Lacura face cream (I have both the day cream and the night cream). Lidl do a facial scrub that I also really like. I used to use Lancome and can barely notice the difference.
Lidl biological washing powder is brilliant for cleaning my manky chef's whites and even gets tomato stains out (although I've not yet found anything that can shift turmeric!). Haven't tried the 2 in 1, I've used Bold tablets for years, but I'll try it next time I run out.
I've already said this in loads of threads, but both Aldi and Lidl do 100g bars of chocolate for 99p (different packaging but I think the chocolate is the same) and it's absolutely the best chocolate for cooking that I've found.
Lidl's bread flour is brilliant, I buy it almost exclusively, and I wish they did strong wholemeal flour too.
My favourite favourite coffee is Co-Op Fair Trade Italian ground coffee which is cheaper than a lot of brand names and often on special offer.0 -

Lidl's shampoos and showergels are pretty decent imho!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Morrison's own brand cordial. I can't notice the difference between their apple and blackcurrant and Robinson's and it a lot cheaper and my OH thinks that their orange cordial is nicer than Robinson's.0

Forgot to say we only have Lidl, Tesco, Coop and local shops up here and so are limited where we can find bargains.
On the mainland I love rooting around for cheap but quality things so will be watching this with interest xErmutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
