Tesco value gammon joints are a big face with us. Cook overnight in the slow cooker & allow to cool completely. Tastes better than really expensive ham-on-the-bone slices. Also good for carbonara. The downside is it's so yummy it doesn't last long!0

Can anyone tell me where I can find decaff tea or coffee thats cheap ?
Its so exensive to buy but I cant have caffiene cos it gives me migraines.
any help much appreciated
to decaff tea or coffee just use the teabag or coffee grounds once - then chuck the liquid away. make another batch using the USED grounds or teabag. all the caffiene is in the first batch. the second batch is decaffienated! so decaff is just used tea or coffee.0 -

Lidl's Special Muesli is one of the best I've ever tried and it's very inexpensive: £1.69. It was on offer recently for £1 so I bought enough to survive a siege
I'm with you, B&T, with regards to toilet paper. I find my lot use the same amount of paper no matter what the quality or thickness, resulting in the Andrex quilted velvet stuff causing our drains to block!! I've found Morrison's value toilet paper to be very good.0 -
I have just had to buy a new iron as mine conked out on Friday - went for a John Lewis Value (I think) at £7.50 and it's the best iron I've ever had!!!!

we always buy sainsbury's value chocolate, i realy think its just as good as most of the branded ones, same goes for tesco. We also get value tortilla chips which are about a quarter of the price of branded ones.
Sometimes use sainsbury's value bin bags, there quite thin but we worked out that if u use two instead of one to make sure its think enough to hold everything they still work out a lot cheaper than sainsbury's own bin bags, and they never seem to split or rip so we dont see the point of spending more on them than we need too.0 -
Have tried the Value Baked Beans from Tesco this week, without telling the family, and no-one complained, lol, they are slightly runnier than Heinz or the standard Tesco ones, but by the time you've warmed them up they are fine, and the extra runniness actually helps stop them sticking to the pan!0

That cant be right. I reuse my teabags all the time and they still have the same flavour and almost the same strength. I dont think this works with tea- as I do not think the caffiene all goes???What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
I've tried all the basics toilet rolls and the winner, by a very long way, is Lidl recycled (green polythene wrapper, 10 rolls for £1.29 or thereabouts). It's strong enough, soft enough and never blocks drains. I wouldn't have Andrex as a gift and as for quilted, I'm sure it's a plot by plumbers to get them work.0
