We are on a very tight budget this xmas and i have been asked to make a cheesecake for a get together during the holidays.
I usually use tesco soft cheese for my cheesecake and it's fine, however, i was wondering if the Tesco 'value' softcheese is just as good to use as it's half the price?....does anyone on here use it and what are the results like?
Thanks for any replies0 -
i've used it for carrot cake icing and it's tasted exactly the same as using posh brandsNonny mouse and Proud!!

I have not tried the tesco one, but I made a cheesecake using co-op value soft cheese, it was delish :T, maybe you could make a test one, just for quality control purposes
, but I think it will be fine.

when I was a regular Tesco shopper I remember buying the value one and not being able to tell it from the expensive 'Fillly' one! it may be a good idea to do a test run first though as redruby suggests!0

We scoff loads of the Tesco value cream cheese and it's fine. My 5 year old's sandwich of choice is cream cheese and strawberry jam:hello:

just for the record, what DOESN'T seem to work as well is low fat cream cheese. I think you'd need to tinker with the recipe as maybe its more watery.0
