Yodel - stayed in for a whole day & parcel not turned up

Weird how more than 24hours later my tracking has updated to say that my parcel was received at my local Yodel depot around breakfast time on Saturday.
So it possibly could have hit the delivery van going out that day.
That's why I hate internet shopping other than dvd's etc. that fit through my letterbox or groceries that you get an hour delivery window. (thank gord that Yodel don't deliver groceries!)0 -
I think this company is insane? They started legal action against twitter to get rid of negative tweets... if i was twitter i'd have just decided they were to much work and shut down their account!Another story was that of Claire Jolly. She has a seven foot fence and gate and has CCTV footage of the Yodel delivery driver bringing the X-Box 360 she ordered from Amazon – and throwing it over the gate. Yodel did apologise after Claire complained.0

They probably see legal action as cheaper than actually improving their service. They changed their name to Yodel to get rid of the reputation that HDNL had and have somehow managed to get a worse reputation.
Surely you make sure you improve your service levels before you spend money on rebranding. Otherwise it is just a waste of time and money as the new brand will just inherit the reputation of the old one, or in this case somehow make it worse.0 -

DHL were always 100% prompt with Mobile Phones n Modems from o2
HDNL were always carp e.g. fragmenting my multi Argos shipment into various locations and delivering one Argos shipment to the neighbour of a similar address to mine!! Never had a proper delivery from them.
Yodel were ok the once with Amazon Dolce Gusto, sodded up my first o2 Rugby pie order and now my latest Shop Direct order.0 -
Looking @ Youtube there seems to be a theme of parcels being thrown over fences/gates etc. for whatever reason.
Also parcels being thrown in their depot and lacking van driving skills.0 -
I had a phone call from Virgin on friday saying that I can have a new contract phone. Yay I thought as I had had my last phone for 2 years. Then they said that if I paid £7.99 I could have it next day. But delivery would be an all day delivery 7am - 9pm. No problems I thought.
I got up saturday morning really excited couldnt wait for my new phone. Checked on their website where you can track you parcel. all it said was "Load Transfer Receipt (NORTHAMPTON SERVICE CENTRE)" Didnt know what that meant but apparently it was done the day before.
so I waited, and waited, and waited. At 6.30pm after waiting in all day the website finally updated and said "Arrived at Depot (Lichfield Service Centre) this was at 06.08am that day. After another hour I phoned Virgin to say that I hadnt received my phone. they checked the details and said that it was to late to have a delivery. even though Yodel are supposed to deliver up until 9pm. I wold now have to wait until Monday.
It is now Monday at 6.25pm and guess what. Still no phone. I called Virgin at 4pm so they would be able to call Yodel, being that they are the customer and not me. As I know that customer services close at 5pm. Virgin called Yodel and was told that it is on the delivery van. That was 2 1/2 hours ago and still nothing.
Yodel's website only gives an 0844 number, and when I have tried to call them, all I get is an automated service that states that they are still waiting for information.
I have spent the day looking for an email address for Jonathan smith who is the CEO of Yodel to complain to him. but have found nothing. Is this man hiding away or something. All I want is my new phone.0 -
I thought I wasn't getting my parcel today (after waiting in all day Saturday) as the tracking was still showing it was at the depot when it should have been out!! BUT
A few hours later the tracking updated to an earlier time of being placed on the van!!!
Good job somebody was there to receive the parcel because one could have assumed it wasn't coming!!!!
Has anybody tried Collect Plus?? Is it just as hair pulling as Yodel??? (can't go through these shenanigans again!!)0 -
Also had problems with Yodel but from the other side of the fence.
Someone had bought a car exhaust off me and I needed to courier it. I went through a reasonably priced (and recommended) freight courier who used Yodel to do the first leg pick up and last leg drop off. I was told after I paid that the courier could arrive at any time during the day specified, so I had to book a day off work. I sat in all day. At lunchtime I saw a van come down the street, then turned around and drove back up again without stopping. I waited until 6pm and contacted the courier. They got in touch with Yodel, then rang me back and said the van driver had called round but there was no-one home.
They clearly hadn't. They promised to come the next day to collect, so I had to book another day off. By 4pm no-one had arrived so I contacted the courier again and they checked with Yodel... but they knew nothing about it. Eventually after a bit of 'heated debate' they agreed to come out right away to collect.0 -
Litlewoods and Yodel are both owned by the the Barclay Brothers so no surprise why Littlewoods use them. We have been awaitng deliveries from Littlewoods over the last few weeks of bedroom furniture which has been dispatched from yodel's Blackpole depot. The first day I stayed at home only to receive a call to say the delivery would not be made as the driver had run out of driving time. When my wife stayed at home to receive delivery of a bed she was contacted by yodel to advise that the delivery could not be made only to be contacted by the driver an hour later to confirm that he was on his way! Since then we have had a number of calls from a third party company ringing on behalf of Littlewoods confirming delivery/collection of goods - none of which has transpired. We have now vowed never to shop again with Littlewoods. I urge everybody to boycott any company that uses yodel. Worryingly I have been advised that Amazon uses yodel! The day that an amazon order of mine is delivered by odel is the day I will cease to deal with Amazon!0
