Yodel - stayed in for a whole day & parcel not turned up

I've been sat in all day waiting for a delivery from HDNL (paid extra for nominated day delivery). Last night the package was despatched from a warehouse 1.5 miles from where I live and it's now at a depot 15 miles away that has a huge backlog (apparently). One wonders why they sent it there if they knew there was a backlog.

I am another disgruntled customer.
Ordered from Republic next day delivery. get email and text saying will be delivered on 2nd(Mon).
Waited in all day no parcel.
Checked tracking, in depot, on drivers van, delivered:eek:
Next day ring Republic look again on tracking it is back in the depot, then on the drivers van. still no parcel
Today back in depot and back on drivers van still no parcel ring republic again they offer to send a new order out but some of the items are now out of stock.
Some next day delivery service!!!
What on earth is going on???0 -
I ordered from Littlewoods who use Yodel. it was just a tablet PC. ordered on the friday, got dispatched on the monday, got to the distribution centre on tuesday, then it showed the day it would be delivered on and the route. eg: "WED4590". It said WED so that obviously means it would be delivered wednesday. But it wasn't! they just moved it to some othere place called W MIDDLETON and its been like that since! Today was the expected delivery date too! and the latest! and I found this on Littlewoods website when i checked the tracking:
"We are currently experiencing some delays with delivery of our larger items (items that it takes 2 men to carry). Some orders previously scheduled for this week are now due to be delivered to customers next week. Our team will contact affected customers by Wednesday 11th July to confirm the new delivery date. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience."
Okay, this is Yodel for you! BUT since when would it take 2 men to carry a tablet PC!! I assume I am one of the affected customers! Wish Yodel would just go out of business. My mother ordered a treadmill and the courier was yodel yet again. My house is hard to find, So they rang me when they was near my house, so i could go and meet them to show them where my house is (a good 60 metres from main road) and they refused to deliver it as it was too far away and the treadmill was 100kg! so they said they will get a smaller van next week and try again. guess what. yep, never happened! so we ordered from a different courier and company of course. courier was pink link I think, and they took it down no problem. and this was just one guy with the right equipment! Yodel had 2!!0 -
Still not got my parcel and according to tracking it is back in the depot.
This will be interesting now had a text to say my Mothercare delivery will be today and guess what it is with the Yodel as well.
Will be interesting to see what happens by the end of today!0 -
update: Zooplus have emailed saying that they've requested that Yodel re-deliver after 5PM today. Finger's crossed!
They could request that the driver sings god save the queen whilst hopping on one leg, it doesn't mean they have to come at that time unless it's a paid for service.
I worked for the company for a long time and we'd get managers saying "this customer wants their parcel after 2pm" but I'd be in that area in the morning. The manager would try and pressure you to change your route around for 1 person(bearing in mind we were trained to deliver in as efficient a manner as possible and this totally contradicted that training).I'd just ask them if they were going to pay me overtime for the extra time added on my day taken up going back and forth over the same area to which they'd tell me no and so got the same response back.
If I was coming back past them I'd do it but I had enough to do with a normal days work to start complicating things even more.0 -

If not it will be with Home delivery network who are now a part of yodel
(yodel are a part of DHL)
Home delivery network are useless.
I had a parcel sitting in their wembly depot for 3 weeks.
there was no attempt to contact me or to deliver the item.
when I did manage to locate the item they claimed that there was an insufficient address.
when I collected the parcel the address was correct & readable.
With all of the mergers going on within the parcel delivery service I think we are going to see very mixed responses as reguards feedback.
well worth checking if it is yodel (formerly DHL home) or yodel (HDNL) delivering.
If it's the latter, do not hold your breath.
Yodel is the former HDN which was formed from the merger of Reality(formerly White Arrow) and Business Express(formerly Home Express).Yodel then acquired a small loss making part of DHL.0 -

Mothercare is one of the clients that sometimes request a time window of a few hours. If you got a text this morning then it's probably had the information inputted by the driver after loading your parcel as it's something that has to be doen before leaving the depot.
All being well you should get yours today.0 -
My dad had *THE GREATEST* delivery from Yodel a couple of weeks back. A box of wine from Virgin Wine...But nobody was home...So the guy thought he'd leave it down the side of the house.
I don't know if it was before, or after, he found the side gate is rather stiff that the guy dropped the box, smashing 8 of the 12 bottles (and leaving a big puddle of wine in the spot).
The fact that the canes used to support some plants nearby found their way down the side of the house (much to the detriment of their plants!) - and that the gate had been forced, suggest that the canes were, in some way, useful for the delivery guy to open the gate.
The comical scrape marks and continued splashes of wine show where the guy dragged the battered box of wine halfway up the path before leaving.
Really was just too funny to even be angry about.
And it wasn't all bad, Virgin let my dad keep the 4 bottles that survived for the inconvenience and sent another 12 out. When this stuff keeps happening, companies will eventually realise the true cost of giving their deliveries to Yodel and we'll be rid of the idiots for good!0 -

Yes wine isn't packed very well. We'd have damaged boxes of it arrive every day at our depot and even kept spare boxes for transferring it over.0
