I've been a long term S&G fan, ever since it was first launched which led to a serious stockpile! At one point I had 11 500ml bottles of Clean on me!! As well as body butters, hand creams etc I think I've seriously overdosed on the stuff as I can't face using it anymore :rotfl:

:eek::eek::eek: That's about 5 years worth by my reckoning!!! I do like it, but it does get boring when it refuses to die!! Very MSE :money: though :rotfl: I too am a one-time S&G worshipper who's overindulged and now dreads the sight of most of the stuff

Argghhhhh despair, I have booked a Clarins beauty event for when they have the freebie gifts again! Need a bottle of Eau de Jardins but not a second product, I have £30 in John Lewis vouchers so enough for the perfume but not for a second product. What do I do?
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

the blue shower gel is lovely ,maybe £16 to £18 ish but very concentrated so lasts well or the toner are ones I tend to buy to get GWPs,check out the website first so you can find the cheapest item that you would actually use or it is not a good offer!

Welcome melh1979, pleased you have decided to join us, lovely friendly crowd here. It's amazing how quickly a few items multiply when we are not looking isn't it? lol, but you are in good company.

Yes it is strange how that happens - L'Occitane hand creams seem to breed in my drawer!

Welcome Melh1979 - lots of us newbies joining the challenge this month. Well done for compiling a stash list. Hope to see more of you on the thread

The joys of being unemployed mean that I have the time to spend 3 hours typing up my list in Excel!! (Also means that I have lots of time to look for products I want to buy!!)

Welcome melh1979 - Its good that you have already identified some areas that you buy too much of and it should help you to resist some future purchases for a bit.

Thanks - not sure it's helping much at the moment - trying to resist the temptation to buy more in the L'Occitane sale. I always get tempted by free gifts and made the mistake of looking for discount codes and found some codes for a couple of "free" gifts. I always think "Oh if I spend £35 then I'll get a free gift worth £20 and then if I spend another £24 I'll get free delivery which saves me £3.95" Hmmmm!

Welcome Melh  I'm sorry to hear that you have lost your job - hopefully we will be able to help you save money and also cheer you along :)

I love your way of categorising your stash :T I'm terrible with the CRUO :rotfl: This challenge has really helped me not to open things just out of curiousity. (Not all the time, but I'm much better). The other thing that the challenge has helped with is to remember to really enjoy what I already have. You have some lovely things so hopefully you can work out how to have that 'new purchase' thrill that Maddiemay mentioned but by shopping your existing stash.

    Best of luck! :)

Thanks - I'm enjoying being a woman of leisure far too much at the moment but have to keep thinking that if I get a new job it means I have more money to buy treats for myself. At the moment I feel very guilty for buying things when I should be saving - I keep thinking of the few hundred pounds my hubby spent on Star Wars Lego recently to make myself feel better! :rotfl:
You have a good point about not opening things as if I do that then I should get the new purchase feeling which I wouldn't necessary get if I've already used them once or twice.

melh, sorry that you have lost your job. It was during my unemployment that I realised I needed to "fix" my addiction for beauty products and curb my spending. QVC was my addiction and I thought nothing of buying TSV after TSV. Good luck with the challenge.

Thanks - it has got worse the last few weeks as I've been bored at home and it's far more interesting looking for things to buy than looking for jobs! And it cheers me up when I get a package through the post. Luckily I'm not really bothered by QVC but I'm sure I could be if I allowed myself to be!

I also have a couple of UU:
Melvita Moisturising Rose Nectar Sample - WIBA? Maybe if it was on offer - it was quite light and didn't make my skin greasy despite the fact that I managed to splurge the whole lot on my fingers which was far too much but I'm not too sure of the scent as I've never been a fan of really floral scents.
L'Occitane Shea Cocoa Flower Hand Cream - WBA in fact I have already but I have a whole load of other flavours to use up first!

Maddiemay - my DD gets a bit of eczema on her fingers and recently it got quite bad which I put down to the handwash in the school toilets. I find that Body Shop handwash works well for her, it is soap free and very moisturising, I got the spiced vanilla one in the sale for £2 each I think and it has started to clear up. Maybe worth a try as it is so much cheaper than L'occitane.

I don't normally count sachets as ins and outs but on this occasion I am, for some reason I got two sets of the Garnier body lotion trial and one had 8 sachets so that was 15 in total. I have finished them off this morning. I had already tried this in the sensitive variety with honey which smells exactly like this shea one they sent out. Odd smell imo.

I have also added another item to the ever fluctuating giveaway bag (which will be leaving this evening) Avon Liquid Spray Wax for hair. This is half full but I am fed up with it as I have already used one full one and it just doesn't give my hair any bounce. So I am going back to my Pantene volumising mousse.

Thank you evilsquid and Rosemary, eyeliner is a good idea as I do need one in brown, in fact yesterday I was browsing and playing make-overs at the Clarins counter (the girls know me well as I am a regular customer so they let me go and try the stuff whenever I am there!). Was wearing no make up so I tried the brown eyeliner and it looked lovely. Sorted! This means I shall be able to go and have my beauty event treat, get my perfume, get a cheaper product too, and get the freebies in the bargain! And £30 is already paid for as I have the vouchers!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
