Good luck to you both on your No Spend Months. Keep letting us know how you to day by day.

I agree with you Willowbee in that the mag buying for freebies is a very :money: way of trying new things. I also think it's a good way to stock up on HG products. Why not? It's still :money: Some years ago Instyle mag was giving away 25ml tubes of Elemis PCMC which is my HG. I bought enough of them to stockpile it for 2 years. Even though this was during my pre-MSE Challenge days I'd do it all over again.

Thank you! I will keep checking in with my progress :) I wouldn't be doing it if Maddiemay hadn't made the commitment and if I hadn't watched you do the same last month. (Well done Marie2 as well :T ). If I can beat the summer sales then I'll be really happy :D

I have lots of tubes of Balance Me shower gel which is my favourite non-SLS wash (prob HG but I enjoy switching between other scents). They came free with Red magazine and I'm happy to say that they will last me years :rotfl: (I bought most of them from eBay at less than magazine cost ;) I don't think I could buy them at full price )

Thanks for all the wishes folks - the exam didn't go as well as I'd hoped but think I did my best so can't ask for more than that. I won't know the outcome until september  so I can forget about it for now.

Had a pampering sesh tonight of long hot bubble bath, facemask & body butter afterwards so feeling tired but refreshed. :D

Was that the Frangipani Moisture Melt evilsquid? I am drowning in that stuff as I received some in previous TSVs. It's such a faff to use as well as I have to bring the kettle up to the bathroom to get it warmed up enough to use.

Really? I loooveeeee this. I don't know how I resisted the TSV with the big bottle in the other day.

If I leave it on my bedroom windowsill at this time of the year its plenty liquidy, or if I'm having a bath I'll just chuck the bottle in with me a couple of minutes before I want to get out and dried and its good to go!

Welcome newbies - Pippin, Caterina, Pinkphoenix and melh1979 - enjoy being on the thread and I hope that you find a UU system that works for you. I add £1 to a pot everytime I UU something and am saving for an IPad - to be honest, I could probably have bought the company with the money I have spent on toiletries over the years but then maybe best not to think about that....

This comment made me smile. Reminded me of Victor Kiam's claim that he loved the product so much he bought the company. Can't for the life of me remember what the product was, was it a razor?
Have my 2nd UU of the month:

Laura Geller balance 'n' brighten - no need to buy again yet as have more in my stash. OMG - have just checked stash list, seems I have 6 - how did that happen, darn things must have been breeding!
Tend to use this at the weekend when I want something quick and a bit lighter than my weekday foundation. Have started another already. Will be sad when I get to my last one of these but am determined to clear all foundations before re-purchasing any more.

I noticed that the pan is showing through the bottom of my Balance N Brighten yesterday. I don't actually have a spare though so it will be interesting to see how long this can last before I replace it. The only problem I foresee now is whether the colours have changed now that BnB has got SPF added.

I think it's just because it takes an incredibly long time to use up. It's definitely :money::money:but a bit boring after a few months :rotfl:

Also, because there have been so many good offers for Soap & Glory lots of people have ended up with a stockpile of the stuff! I think I'm the only one that still likes The Righteous Butter - I love the smell and I'm actually reluctant to use it up, though I'm getting close now. I only have one other S&G product so I'm lucky that I haven't been overwhelmed.

(I think that I have a comparable LHJ on my hands with two 500ml bottles of Bliss Soapy Suds though...)

I actually like Righteous Butter too. And Flakaway - am I weird?

Now that I've caught up with thread I have 3 UUS and 2 INS to declare:-

    UUs:-

3oz bottle of The Bath and Body Works Wicked Spiced Pumpkin body lotion. WNBA even if I could (sold only in the US). This was really awful stuff. Smelt very synthetic and sometimes left my skin feeling sticky.

60ml bottle of OPI nail lacquer remover. WNBA. Not as effective as the Cutex one I use although maybe the OPI is kinder to nails.

Flexital heel balm. WNBA. Nothing wrong with the product's effectiveness. Problem is that I neglect my feet and could do with giving them a good scrape with my callous blade. TMI I know. My feet are absolutely killing me at the mo because of my new shoes. Think I need to pamper them a bit more.

    INs:-

    2 x cotton wood pads.
1 x bath lily. When we were shopping at TBS at Cheshire Oaks on Sunday I bought a set of body butters with a bath lily in it as Emma said she wanted her own and didn't want to use mine inferring that there was something wrong with mine. Seeing this one in ASDA for only a £1.00 made me decide to replace mine too.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I just can't get on with it so I have a 3/4 full bottle sitting looking at me - I feel bad because it was so expensive sooo...If anyone wants it, PM me and I'll send it to you. It suitable for all skin types from 30+

ValM I am just attempting to follow in your inspiring footsteps:A and it is great to have Willowbee and Dolly84 to help keep me on the straight and narrow. Day 3 almost accomplished, I put a fiver in the savings pot as I am guaranteed to have bought something by now:j I am curious, how many tubes of PCMC did you buy to last 2 years?

I will buy (planned) L'Occitane Liquid soap tomorrow, I have been using up all sorts of soap, shower gel and foaming cleanser, but the excema of my fingers is back, the Lavender one keeps it at bay. Just remembered Q** have offered a £10 off a purchase over £30 in July, I must check out the L'Occ liquid soap there before I buy anywhere else:money:

I must admit to loving my Clinique Lash Power mascara as it is the only thing that actually stays on my eye lashes and doesn't give me panda eyes!!!

I am an ICT Teacher and currently have an air conditioned classroom but the room still varies between cool and hot with the computers and students in and out. I also have to go to various other sauna type rooms and cover lessons as and when, or even just sit in the office which is usually like a sauna at the moment! I would not be without the Lash Power mascara now, was the best mascara I have ever bought. Have been using it for 5 years now so they'd better not stop making it any time soon - well unless they bring out an even better product instead!

Other mascaras - even waterproof ones - make me look like a panda in about 30 minutes of putting them on so when I say it works for me I mean it!

Lash Power is my favourite mascara too. I love it for the brush though. I have very stumpy sparse eye lashes and find that if the mascara brush is too bushy I can't get it anywhere near my lashes. I too don't suffer panda eyes with this one. A good cheap alternative if I can't afford to replace Lash Power is Avon Magnify mascara. I also buy this one in brown for every day use.

It really was the encouragement I got on this forum that kept me going last month. There were a few "special" offers that popped up but the thought of posting on here that I had succumbed to them stopped me! The only thing that I was sorry that I missed out on was the Yankee Candle TSV but it had to be done and as I have posted already the same offer will come up again I'm sure.

MrM bought me a kit of Balance Me shower gels for Christmas a couple of years ago but I was not so impressed with them. I'm a Philosophy girl when it comes to shower gels.

I wish. I've not tried leaving mine on the windowsill but have put it in the bath with me to no avail. There have been many times when I've fancied using it (because I do like the product itself) and I've been lying in the bath when I've remembered that I didn't bring the kettle up!

maddiemay - 30mls of PCMC lasts me 3 months. I remember now that the tubes were 15mls so I must have acquired *ahem* 16 tubes! I remember that I bought quite a few copies myself. At the time MrM was working away and he drove around to a few different Tesco stores to buy me more. I realise this sounds quite bad - as if I had a serious addiction - but it was such a moneysaver! He didn't mind as it was his money that would be saved as he didn't have to buy me an Elemis TSV for a while! I keep dreaming that Elemis would run this offer again.

The L'Occitane shop at Cheshire Oaks had some fabulous offers on the liquid soap last Sunday. I can't remember the pricing but they were selling multiples of the eco pouches on a really good deal. Are you anywhere near there?

I got that offer from Q as well. I noticed that Minnie Mouse logo on the OPI advertisement as well so am hoping they have a decent set of those lacquers as I said I would treat Emma to them as part of her birthday gift next month.

Gonna go now. Goodnight everyone. x

Am I the only person here who actually likes Clean on me???

I've been a long term S&G fan, ever since it was first launched which led to a serious stockpile! At one point I had 11 500ml bottles of Clean on me!! As well as body butters, hand creams etc I think I've seriously overdosed on the stuff as I can't face using it anymore :rotfl:

I'm not sure how much the liquid soap normally is but the large eco pack duos are in the L'Occ sale at the moment. The free delivery over £40 has gone :( but 'sale12' will take a further 10% off your order (until the 5th, I think, but I can't find the leaflet). You can choose 2 sample sachets as well when you checkout. (£21.60 for 1000ml of lavender, verbena or sweet almond oil + £3.95 p&p)

    Wil xx
