Hi All
I have been lurking for a little while now but more so recently as I've lost my job. To be honest I have mainly been using the thread of ideas of things to buy (which goes right against the whole idea of it!):o I guess I have been buying things (mainly L'Occitane) to cheer myself up a little but it could easily get out of hand so I decided to make a list of all my stuff. I didn't think I had much but it seems like more when you write it all down! Though there are quite a few samples/travel size products (I like trying new things so samples and travel size products are great to stop me getting bored!)
Anyway here's my list - looks a bit odd as I did it in Excel! I have made up some abbreviations which mean; IU = In Use, ONIU = Open not in use (mainly not using due to boredom or not liking the product but shall aim to try and use them up), CRUO = Couldn't resist using once (not in use but to tempted to try it out before putting away in the drawer), and U = Unopened.
[...]
My main plan is just not too buy too much and to try and use some of the things up I had forgotten I had tucked away. I certainly don't need any shower gel, body moisturiser or hand cream!!
Welcome Melh  I'm sorry to hear that you have lost your job - hopefully we will be able to help you save money and also cheer you along
I love your way of categorising your stash :T I'm terrible with the CRUO :rotfl: This challenge has really helped me not to open things just out of curiousity. (Not all the time, but I'm much better). The other thing that the challenge has helped with is to remember to really enjoy what I already have. You have some lovely things so hopefully you can work out how to have that 'new purchase' thrill that Maddiemay mentioned but by shopping your existing stash.
Best of luck!0 -

I think it's just because it takes an incredibly long time to use up. It's definitely :money::money:but a bit boring :rotfl:
Also, because there have been so many good offers for Soap & Glory lots of people have ended up with a stockpile of the stuff! I think I'm the only one that still likes The Righteous Butter - I love the smell and I'm actually reluctant to use it up, though I'm getting close now. I only have one other S&G product so I'm lucky that I haven't been overwhelmed.
(I think that I have a comparable LHJ on my hands with two 500ml bottles of Bliss Soapy Suds though...)
I love Righteous butter I have two left!!All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0 -
Can I join 3 days in? I really need to stop buying cosmetics - especially nail varnish. Bought three bottles randomly today.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

Well, in my eyes that makes you very lucky! :rotfl:
(I have so many body lotions that I mustn't replace them as I go...)
Kiss_me_now9 - of course! Jump right in - it doesn't matter when you start *smiles*0 -

Congratulations Valm:T on going cold turkey last month. I also managed not to buy anything, only ins were some free Elemis samples.
Well done to you too marie2. You did even better than me.I recently bought their Cinnamon and Orange soap, it was uu last month. I found the fragrance didn't last...sadly....as it was indeed gorgeous. I'm new to L'Occitane products so hope this is not the norm, will try their soap again but in a different fragrance. I have their Lavender hancream in the stash and can't wait to try it out.
I have 2 x verbena soaps and they have not smelt of anything when I opened them. I thought it was as I had kept them for too long. Perhaps the soaps are not winners for fragrance. The lavender hand cream is though. Whenever I use this at work someone always comments on the smell.tokkiandoliver wrote: »I love philosophy fragrances! it's so soft and feminine. My fav is amazing grace. I had the perfume oil too and I agree with you that I prefer the other format better too.
I love Amazing Grace too and Pure Grace. I had the oil in Pure Grace fragrance. It was ok but I prefer a good spritz. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Welcome to all the newbies.
Good luck Maddiemay and Willowbee on trying not to spend this month, day 3 and nothing bought yet for me, let's see if I can still say that at day 23. We would pick a long month to do this wouldn't we?Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I have been following (and occasionally posting on) this forum for a couple of years, and a lot of people seem to dislike this shower cream as it takes ages to use up.
I love it for the same reason!!! It lasts for ages and makes my skin as soft as remembering to use a body scrub0 -

I must admit to loving my Clinique Lash Power mascara as it is the only thing that actually stays on my eye lashes and doesn't give me panda eyes!!!
I am an ICT Teacher and currently have an air conditioned classroom but the room still varies between cool and hot with the computers and students in and out. I also have to go to various other sauna type rooms and cover lessons as and when, or even just sit in the office which is usually like a sauna at the moment! I would not be without the Lash Power mascara now, was the best mascara I have ever bought. Have been using it for 5 years now so they'd better not stop making it any time soon - well unless they bring out an even better product instead!
Other mascaras - even waterproof ones - make me look like a panda in about 30 minutes of putting them on so when I say it works for me I mean it!
