Boiler...newly installed, more problems!

Thanks again
Its odd about the pipe? We havent painted it, but who knows what the boiler man has done to it? What is odd, is its not just the pipe but the corner joint too which has this rust like appearance.
Which cable do you mean gas4you?0 -
with regard to the cable i think there may be some slight confushion over cables, i think one of the other posters was ref to the two cables run (or hanging) on the right hand side of the boiler that goes over the top of the boiler to the right.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
The cables that comes out of the boiler go to the pump and timer in airing cupboard upstairs0
-
I was referring to the cables outside in the pics of the copper pipe up the wall.0
-
Is it me or does that copper pipe look like it was coated in chrome?
I've heard you can get coated pipework for internal jobs where a pipe run might show (but i've never seen any).
The pitting certainly looks like it anyway.0 -
i was referring to the cables hanging over the front of the boiler.
In reply to gas4you:
The flex/tv flex is fine to be within 25mm of the gas pipe, its CABLE i.e grey cable that feeds house electrics that are usually buried in walls that should be 25mm away.
There are no regs on Flex feeding kettles/applainaces etc being within this distance. Otherwise most boiler wiring looms would be NTCS0 -

Hi Keith
How did your inspection go? Did you show gas safe the photos?0 -
well interesting meeting today with my local gas safe inpector, he did say he had a compaint to look at on the 20th so OP if you wanna post or pm me your location i can tell you if it's the guy i met today that is likely to be coming to you.
some of the things he told me i cannot & will not re-post on here or anywhere else but it is truely frightening & OP like i said before please wait until the 20th to get it inspected & not get the installer back before then, i showed him your pics & he couldn't work out what was going on with the "corrosion" on the copper pipe as copper doesn't rust & as myself & some others have said they will only deal with gas related issues, however they will also look at his standard of work & they will give him a defect notice to come back & fix anything that their remit allows, but more importantly (which is why you need to wait) they will also inspect him regularly (or remove him from the register) to make sure any work he does is safe as the next customer may not be as lucky as you.
can i ask if he was a foreign worker ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I will pm you Keith. No local gas installer with small business0 -
What I really want is that exterior gas pipe to me moved indoors but don't think gas safe can make installer do that.
The corrosion or rusty appearance is weird. Feels rough to touch0
