Boiler...newly installed, more problems!

We had a boiler installed recently (few weeks ago)

Many problems along the way.

1. Pipes in/out boiler wrong way - fixed
2. Boiler too low down - fixed
3. C02 readings (wrong according to manufacturers spec) - fixed

NOW there are 2 more big worries, which never worried me until visitors mentioned

Firstly the boiler is not straight on the wall - lop sided and not straight horizontally or vertically

Secondly he ran the gas pipe from under the stairs to the kitchen where the boiler is outside. So the pipe from the meter to the boiler is 22m copper pipe, along the outside of our house.

Emailed him but no response.

Will someone else come in and fix these issues for us? Eg fix someone elses handywork? Not want to do this as its more money to outlay. What would you do?

Ideally I want the guy that fitted to fix it. He is Gas Safe registered.

From looking online it doesnt sound like it should be on the side of the house

No, there is no problem with a gas pipe on the outside of the house, as long as it is clipped properly, sleeved through the wall and labelled.

as gas4you said absolutely no problem with a gas pipe outside, as long as it's not subject to damage, ie if it's in a garage with a car going in & out then it should be run at high level.

If there is a plan to run a gas pipe outside,the best thing to do is have the discussion with the punter first. You cant just press ahead and do it ! There will have been alternatives. Look on the bright side. Gas pipe outside =cheaper gas..

we had an issue with the gas pressure in our last house, it was classed as a safety issue by british gas, new feed to the property and meter required, due to the location of the meter british gas had to fit a length of 2.5m of 22mm copper outside and into garage at high level, looked discrete, so i'm guessing that there is no issue with copper pipe being fixed outside as this was installed by british gas at their suggestion

i always tell the customer if i plan on running the gas pipe outside thats only polite, how do you know there would have alternatives thats a stupid thing to say, what if the floor was solid with brand new carpet & the upstairs had a tiled floor in the bathroom with the joists running the wrong way that you needed to get through, gas pipe outside = cheaper gas what on earth are you talking about. :rotfl:

i wouldn't trust anything that british gas tell you they are (in the main) the biggest bunch of cowboys out there, but in this instance they are correct, both myself & i'm guessing gas4you are GSR & there is no problem with running a gas pipe outside providing it is clipped & marked as a gas pipe & is sleeved through the walls.
