Urgh..more ugly soldering and unnecessary compression joints on top of boiler. I hope he flushed that soup out of the system before commissioning. Fine brass twiddly bits and castings plus self cleaning flux = disaster

No he power flushed before installing it. What do you mean disaster? I've got 5 year warranty from Worcester

But did he flush it after installing it and add water treatment? If your system has acid soup in it,Worcester will all but void your warranty. Seen it happen.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Close up of magna filter

    Hi.

I would say it's not going to be possible to clean the filter and the service door to the heat exchanger is probably inaccessible due to the filter being over it.

See page 4 of the installation manual.

See also the cleaning procedure for the filter.

    Side clearance is ok.

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)

Oh my! So its a completely awful job then!! I am so angry

Where should the magna filter be then please? Pg 4 of installation manual is not discussing this?

Ps he is coming back to do "any other things I need him to do" (paraphrasing). Do I ask the magna filter moved? Surely its normal to power flush the system before? Will the pipework on top void the warranty?

There does appear to be a yellow/green cable from near meter to the electric meter? Is this right?

Installer said he will come back...hmmmm?!!?!

He says he will come back. But from what you have all said, is that the best thing? Worried about this earth wire, will it be ok? And pipe going outside, sleeve?

the gas should be bonded (green & yellow wire) within 600mm of the meter & should be before any tees, any gas pipe passing through a wall needs to be sleeved for two reasons, one to prevent it getting damaged within the wall & two if the pipe leaks it won't leak into the cavity therefore the gap between the gas pipe & the sleeve needs to be sealed.

Here is the boiler - not level!

well what a bundle of joy you are, i bet you get invited to loads of parties & if it's fancy dress do you go as the grim reaper.

if you are doing a boiler change it should be flushed BEFORE the new boiler is fitted & not after, you want clean water going into the new boiler not dirty which is what would happen if you did it after.

if it is only a boiler change then there is going to be a min amount of flux used on the wet side anyway, the spirovent comes with compression fittings so you can't do much about that & the only other compression fitting i can see is an elbow so hardly the end of life as we know it.

the OP is worried enough without you blowing everything way way out of proportion & to be honest you should hang your head in shame

your filter is a spirovent & although the picture isnt clear it looks like the older type without a magnet inside, to clean these you need to attach a hose & open the valve at the bottom & any particles that have been collected will have dropped to the bottom & then be flushed away so yes you do need the space to be able to attach a hose connection
    .

the installation is below standard & i'm not trying to make out otherwise, the pipe should have been cleaned after soldering, the sleeves should be sealed, the bonding should be on the pipe before the tee (although this may have been existing & not something the fitter did) & the filter may be too low, there are tens of thousands of plumbers gas engineers etc that use self cleaning flux so that really isn't a prob what ever the grim reaper says.

So OP calm down take a deep breath have a cup of earl gray & a nice choccy biscuit, providing the flush was done correctly & inhibitor added & the gas pressure is correct at the boiler & the service diamentions are as per the MI then your warrentee will be fine.

If you do have a gas safe inspection please let us know how you get on.

Thank you Keith. I have attached a closer picture of the magna filter thing. Is this the older one? Where should the magna go? He originally put the boiler almost on the worktop. We told him to move it up higher, so he put magnabooster presumably the only place he could?

The RGI said he will do whatever I think needs doing, I will jot down what you have daid
