Been a horrible morning
What would you do?
Our son's overdraft is getting bigger by the month - now at £280 was £50 last month. We gave him an allowance and he spends it plus the bank's money.
My OH shouts at me in front of him instead of sorting him out.
Our son goes on about respect but he gives us none, he lies all the time and squandered £2500 in the summer from his long term savings.
My house is for sale and languishing
I haven't got a car
My mother has had enough of him and he was her little angel before. I can't stay with her - I'd go nuts
What would you do?An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi everyone!
Have been around all week so have been out of the loop with all your doings but hugs to those who need them!
Thoroughly enjoyed Mother's Day yesterday and the HM vanilla fudge I made for my Mum went down very well. I had my parents and Auntie and Uncle for a family meal yesterday...HM lasagna [made by OH and deleesh] with garlic bread and purple sprouting broccoli [most disappointed when it lost its colour during cooking:D ] and lemon surprise pudding. We managaged to get it all done on Sat so very little prep yesterday required:j
Sat pm was fabby as had a thorougly frugal time in town and managed to make my money STReeeeetch. Got some Dunoon mugs with Celtic designs in perfect condition for 75p each, a fab book of recipes for preserves, dried fruit, liquers, flavoured vinegars etc which combinations I'd have never dreamed of for 50p [hmmm potential Chrimbo pressies methinks:D ] and a very unusual gypsy skirt for £4.50 which the material girl needed!!!
Today I've done Madam's litter tray, made the beds, emptied the bin and put the dustbin out and a fabby pile of ironing awaits me when I get home:eek: Tea is pasta with lemon, basil, olive oil and parmesan.
Have a good day

Hi everyone,
What a weekend! On Friday we went to a brilliant 'do'. We had a night away in a very nice hotel and generally had a good time. On our way home we picked up our new fire and surround. Chap called round yesterday who is going to fit it for us, probably this week. I still need to get a gas man in though.
Last night OH was on his way back over to Wales (he works away during the week) and unfortunately skidded on some ice and ended up in a ditch, having smashed into several trees on the way. He is OK, walked away without a scratch, but the car looks like it might be a write-off. He eventually ended up back at home here at 4am this morning. So at the moment he is at home, kicking himself, and trying to sort out a courtesy car. He says he is going to get back to work as soon as he has the car. I'd prefer him to have at least another day off just to make sure he is OK and doesn't have any damage, but he is as stubborn as a mule and won't listen to me. Men!
Do you know, I knew as soon as the phone started ringing that there was something wrong as he hadn't had enough time to get home. My heart was in my mouth when I picked it up. The car is just a lump of metal at the end of the day. At least I didn't get a call from a police officer!
Funny thing is, we were discussing what type of car he might get when he replaces this one. It looks like it will be sooner than we thought!
Right, busy busy at w**k so I must get something done.
Have a good day everyone. (((hugs))) to those who need/want them!

It's my birthday today, but due to an administrative error, most of my cards are missing! Think either my self or DH have put them up somewhere safe, and can't remember where. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when you reach the grand old age of 45...!!
Have located my b/day cards, they're at my sister's house!!!0 -
((((hugs))))) CCstar our son went through a difficult stage where he thought he knew it all  on leaving home and having to look after himself he soon learned just how much he didn't know!;) like why didn't the laundry fairy move out with him?
:rotfl: Now he is very independant and a lovely hard working young man.
Well stew is in the sc, bread made and a pot of soup is bubbling away. Just waiting for big sis and her oh now. Really not looking forward to the funeral, why is it that sometimes a death in the family can bring out the worse in some folks, so much bad feeling, if anyone picks on my sister (who looked after her mil unstintingly for 5 years 24/7) they will have to take on me too! Such a shame as her mil was such a lovely lady, she wouldn't want all this. Sorry to offload but am really worried about sis.
Can I wear brown tomorrow? I don't have anything smart in black but don't want to seem disrespectful, I will have a black coat on though.
Better get another cuppa!

Hey Hun
Firstly...big hugs....you sound like you need them. How old is your son? It is your home and you deserve respect from both OH & DS and shouldnt be be-littled in front of your son. Sounds like you need to have a chat with OH and get him onside and work together.
Chin up.

Have a big hug petal (hug)
No practical advice really, being a wee one myself. But we have this trouble with my brother.
I find that if he feels that both my parents are on his back and he has no-one who'll listen without criticising, it makes it worse. Does he have an older sister who could be the calm and gentle listener, and voice of reason?
It works for us, my lil bro will listen to me once he's been rocketed by M&D!!!0 -
afternoon all
have just skimmed thread so hope everyone is ok (((hugs))) if you need one.
had a lovely mothers day - noone could get me what I really wanted - new bones - but never mind. off to the fracture clinic in a while to have another xray so fingers crossed (on my good hand) that all is well.
its my birthday tom & at the hairdressers 1st thing for cut and colour which im really looking forward to. need to do some paperwork but hopefully will be able to go out for lunch as well.

Hello All,
Hugs to all in need and Many Happy Returns Soba!!!!
Am gutted as just realised I missed Mansfield Park last night, I love all things Austen and this is my favourite next to P&P. Does anyone know if it's repeated at all?
Leaving shortly to pick up sprogs, it's horribly cold out there and I have a mountain of dishes to face me when I get home despite doing two DW loads last night. Have choir tonight so dinner will be quick and easy salad for DH and I and tortellini for the kids.
Enjoy your day!!

I'm assuming here, that like me, you don't work outside the home.. the problem with that is that weekends don't feel any different for those who don't work outside the home (except that maybe more people are around). For myself, they really don't feel any different because my OH doesn't work either. I do a few small things to ring the changes (like pizza saturday night, bacon and egg butties saturday morning), but ... to answer your question: i have a day off when i start to feel burnt out.
I'll give you an example. Yesterday i baked (coffee & walnut bread, lemon drizzle loaf, 2 loaves of bread, batch flapjacks, thai green curry for dinner and start of one of my rubber mince batches). The day before i dug in the garden. the day before that i was out shopping (and lugging heavy stuff around). the day before that i was out, shopping as well, and having an appointment with someone. the day before that i went out to get our new greenhouse (which i had to lug home, along with a big bag of fruit and veg from the market stall). my head hits the pillow every night and i'm asleep in 5 seconds, i'm so tired, physically tired, which is a good thing. today i'm due to go out to get some stuff printed for my OH, then i shall come back and do some pottingup/transplanting of stuff/watering of my babies (seedlings) and finish the rubber mince, and some ironing.. I've decided tomorrow is a day off. i'll spend the day in PJs, watch a DVD, sleep a lot and generally recuperate.
i find doing this periodically, when i need to, and not when the calender says i should (LOL) i have less days when i feel burnt out.
as for the days when i do: i cut myself a break. sit down with a good book, have a long bath, anything to do something for *me* as opposed to the house/family and so on. I make sure i have an "easy" meal prepared, which also cuts down on washing up. Having said all that: i don't have kids. i imagine having kids makes doing all that much harder.
