Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 19th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all

First time I have ever started the daily so hope I have done it right!! Although I have been a bit naughty as I haven't been to bed yet, but as I'm not planning to (I'll just feel worse if I try and sleep now as have to be up at 6.30, but my lecture is only 1hr so can sleep this afternoon) I hope you'll let me off

Handing my final essay in at uni today (unless you count my dissertation which, in the state it's in at the minute most certainly does not look much like an essay :rotfl: :rotfl: ) so only a few more teaching weeks left, 1 presentation to do (and that's tomorrow) and then 1 exam... Then I have to go out into the world and get a proper job
So lately, OS has slipped a bit down my list of priorities and my flat is in a right state, although through clever meal-planning and freezing portions I have managed not to have to cook for over a week whilst I have been writing essays!) I have a day off from both work and uni on Thursday and have pencilled that into my diary as the day I do a big deep clean of the flat to get it back under control...
Not much else to report, but now my essay is done, I just wanted to say thankyou to all of you who have supported me through these last few weeks - several times I have thought of just giving up but you all came through for me (with several hard kicks to the backside) so THANKYOU!!!
Haven't been able to keep up with the daily, so will say a generic :grouphug: to everyone who has been feeling a bit pants

Love to all, Roz xxx

I have taken a lasagne out of the freezer from the last batch I made and will serve with salad and home made garlic bread for tea.

Morning. Day off for me. I am already wondering what to do with it. I have to go down to sort out the boat first thing. The weather has done some damage apparently....Not happy about that.
It's very windy down here and cold, so not a great time to be messing about on the river.

Good morning everyone,
As n9eave says - very windy in the west country at the mo - the post box has been banging all night, so i think i might stick it down later once the postie has been. Mind you, although windy, lovely blue skies at the moment, so will be getting the WM on so i can get my washing out early, my bedding dried really quickly yesterday, so should get a load dried nicely today as well. My children were hoping for snow, but dont think we will get any.
I had a lovely peaceful day yesterday (not like last mothers day when my normally lovely children turned into the kids from hell) i made a lovely roast dinner, they gave me loads of chocs, breakfast in bed, and tidied their rooms (i only asked the once!!!) and went to bed without a fuss. Wish everyday was mothers day.
Today, i have 2 LOs here, not sure what we are going to do yet, but they play nicely so should be a nice day.
Right, want to crack on before the first one gets here,
Have a lovely day everyone ((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
DH just phoned it's snowing really hard about 2 miles up the roadI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Good morning everyone!
Had a great weekend. Lovely Mothering Sunday - croissants and fresh coffee in bed, card made by DD, decorated with hand-made paper that she's made. Spent the rest of the day in the garden, when we weren't dodging the snow showers. DH has measured for our new willow fence, and sent an e-mail to the company (they don't have an on-line ordering service).
I have the carpenter coming to finish repairing my spare room floorboards, and need to organise a sander hire for Friday. Also need to buy some varnish for the floor, and wallpaper and paint. We'd like to get it finished for Easter so that DD can have a sleepover in there.
Had Gingham's Gallette au Chou for supper last night - yummy!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Morning
Got up to a few inches of snow, so going to put my wellies on soon and take the dog out. Hope everyone had a good weekend, I got a lovely bunch of flowers for Mothers Day and we went for a fantastic Chinese buffet on Friday night - you know, the one where you eat until you feel sick
I got a brand new interior door off Freecycle, so saved about £50, so a good weekend all round.
Hope everyone is OK, have a good dayYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all
Nice pants N9eav
We've got a light dusting of snow this morning - keeps falling from the sky too so there's enough for a snowball fight on the way to school.
Had a lovely weekend with In-laws here - on the way home though they were involved in an accident and wrote off their car - luckily they're both ok.
Got taken out for lunch yesterday and had a wander around the continental market then it was home for scrabble and choccy infront of the fire - simple things in life for me!
OS wise today - need to dust and hoover through - sort washing and ironing and do something with all the leftovers in the fridge.
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning everyone
It's cold and snowy here - and even though it's a public holiday here in N.Ireland (for St.Patrick's Day) I have to go to w*r* as the company I am employed by does not observe it.
I was absolutely shattered yesterday after my action packed weekend and achieved very, very little Old Styling. It's going to have to wait until this evening.
The furniture I bought recently has a fault with it. It's a right pain in the bum as I am a full-time worker who lives alone and it's awkward to get time off to get household things sorted out. I might have to put my "very angry customer" hat on and see if I can persuade the shop to do something about it on a weekend.
You will be shocked and appalled to read that I am going to hop back into bed now for another 45 minutes as I don't need to be up before 7...I may not sleep but just lying down with my eyes closed in the warm is a very agreeable compromise lol.
Have a fab Monday everyone.
Snowy0
