DD off school again with temperature, sore throat and aching all over. Going to get a doctors appointment for her. I still feel lousy and have taken some cold and flu tablets, so hopefully they will kick in soon

No WM on ATM as not enough for a load but DW will need to go on soon. House generally clean and tidy-toilet cleaned.

    Morning!

A light covering of snow here:D

DS2 is on 2 weeks work experience starting today at our local library, he's got to wear smart clothes(trousers and a shirt) so that will be a shock to him as he's into a grunge-type look most of the time:rolleyes:

We bought DH a new van last night after I 'killed' his last one:o It is an ex british gas one and looks to be in good nick - hope it is as we've spent most of our spare cash on it:eek:

Day off for me:j got some odd bits of painting to touch up, finish spring-cleaning the kitchen and then go into town to tax the van and alter the insurance.

Good Luck Moggins with your appointments xx

    have a lovely day all

    take care xx

    Morning All
No snow here yet, just cold and brilliant sunshine. My grandad used to say sun before 7, rain before 11. So we'll see if it changes by then.
    Back at w**k.
Roz_V DS is at the same stage of his course as you, and probably just about as far with his dissertation, seems to think he can pull it together during Easter, but knowing him it will be a last minute finish, though I think all are like that.
((((hugs)))) to those in need of one, and congratulations to anyone celebrating.
    Take care. DG

    Hello everyone

Happy Birthday soba, hope you find your cards
((hugs)) to N9eave and anyone else who needs one today. moggins, hope your appt goes well. And thank you Pooky, your post reminded me I wanted to change my signature :)

Taking the boys to the library this morning - warm, fun and free :D Got to go to the Post Office too and pick up some milk.

I've managed to find a taker on Freecycle for two *big* heavy boxes of books - I was going to take them to the charity shop but she is doing a bootsale at the weekend to raise money for the local hospital, and she can collect them, so that saves me a major headache. Just got to get them boxed up for her now.

Not sure about OS-ing today other than cleaning up after the kids. Got a copy of the Readers Digest Hints and Tips from Times Past from Amazon Marketplace and it's full of brill ideas, just wish I had a bit more time to try them! Might spend some time with my notebook writing some wishlists though!

  • Hello everybody and hugs to all. No snow here but bright and cold - will not plant out just in case. Fantastic thunderstorm yesterday thought - went from as dark as night to brilliant light. I enjoyed it although I don't think my budgies did  Had a bit of a disaster with my ciabatta - basically I think I over-kneaded it and well it kind of collapsed. One minute it was high and the next it had flopped. oh dear - still I'll try and use it up for bread as I'm that nesh I can't be bothered going out in the cold to the shop - besides I can go into the town centre tomorrow when the market's on (and therefore use only one lot of shoe leather :D ) Did have a trawl yesterday through my pantry and have told DH we can live off the pantry for the next couple of weeks - he had the cheek to say he'd do that and it's me who keeps buying stuff - don't know where he gets that from but then he's one of these people where 2 tins of beans is "loads"!!! Waiting for the District Nurse to arrive for a dressing change. FIL has been moved from an acute ward to a medical one - his oxygen sats are still low and he has a mask on which he doesn't like apparently. He has had a heart attack and that's why he was being sick and going grey. I have told DH that he must try and get through to his Mum that if FIL doesn't look well given his health problems she MUST get an ambulance and not ring the GPs and ask what to do. I have a fear that time wasting is going to cause a near miss. MIL went and bought a Dyson (as her own vac is "too heavy" - I thought Dyson's were heavy?) I told DH not to get any ideas as we don't need a new vac (I know what he's like - he got a new phone because his Brother had one and then didn't use it as it was tres expensive!) MIL also got to go out to the pub as well (as she was so upset seeing her husband she "needed a drink") - I knew she'd manage that - I can read her like a book. Still, DH has said he will be back tomorrow evening - another reason for shopping tomorrow. Last night I said to DH that I was pricing up all the plants we want on e-bay - "don't buy anything" he said - ooops! :rotfl: :o Still I have got 100 summer bulbs, a shed load of seeds and a lilac cardigan  all for £14!!!! Feel quite smug. Right. Today will put WM on and do some house admin. Play the little game I have of "let's see if I can trim the budget any more" - not to be confused with "let's count the change in the piggy banks" - ooooh I might do both!! :j Hope everyone has a nice day.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
