Morning :hello:
Happy Birthday soba :bdaycake:
Roz_V - good luck with the finals!
moggins - all the best for your appointments...
Paulie'sGirl - that has happened to me too, back in 2005! I was in a choir rehearsal in a church in a very upmarket part of London, and had left my bag behind where we were practising - next time I picked it up my purse was empty  It was silly of me to leave it unattended really, as there were members of the public coming in and out all the time, but still...
madmum33 - my mum always used to say that the definition of a bohemian household is one where you have to wash up before you cook/eat, rather than after
Another busy week for me! This afternoon I am going to a session of the youth project that I've offered to do admin for. I cancelled a singing lesson to go to this, AND yesterday I got a text from my mum saying she'll be in London today and would I like to meet up for dinner - obv. had to say no, as I made the commitment to the projectI'm sure I'll be able to catch up with Mum sometime in the next couple of weeks (before she heads back up north).
At least I should be home earlyish (before 8, I should think) so should take the opportunity to do some housework, and/or colour my hair. Caught sight of my barnet while trying on stuff at Bravissimo yesterday, and couldn't believe how washed-out and greying it looked  I haven't had it cut or coloured for ages - my favourite stylist has gone on sick leave (leg injury) and will then be going straight onto maternity leave, and I don't like trusting new stylists with my mopAnyway, dived into Boots and got a Botanics semi-permanent colour to make it look half-decent
Tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday I'll be out at various things - fortunately I have been organised enough in the culinary department to mean I don't really have to cook anything this week - the freezer should keep me going! Next week life calms down again to the level I prefer!
Right, must get going. Have a good day everybody, and take a ((((hug)))) if you fancy one
Edit: reverie, if you look at my posts from last weekend you'll see how much can be achieved in the absence of a working internet connection!

Happy Birthday Soba - hope you have a lovely day!:bdaycake:Do what you love :happyhear0

Good morning all, hope every-one is ok. I had a very stressful sunday,(wont air my dirty washing in public) but suffice to say i am pondering on where my life is going.Things you think are rock solid dont always turn out to be that way.My eldest son did turn up with The Queen dvd and some ferrero rocher for mothers day, so that helped me relax a bit!:D
I do feel a bit better this morning although it was a toss up as to whether i went to the depression board or came here. It didnt help that on saturday evening i found some old unopened letters , one was a month old, from our local Lea student section asking my daughter for £1800 in repayment of student loan as they hadnt had the details of our income.!!! Luckily, i got hold of a very nice lady this morning, who said just send in my husbands tax return or a letter from his accountant and they will amend this. Phew what a relief. It will teach me to watch our paperwork properly and not to just sling it in a cupboard when we are decluttering. Isnt it funny how these things happen at the week-end when you cant talk to some-one immediately??
Today in Berkshire, its very cold, but no snow yet..I have swiped the kitchen, put on the washing,(have loads and loads to do) cleaned the loo.Still need to get some groceries, take captain chaos to pre-school at 12-45.more washing, make lunch, more washing, hoover, more washing, do you get my drift about the washing?
Sorry if this has been an extremely selfish post but i just needed to get some things off my chest. I hope every-one is surviving whatever may be happening in their life. Hugs to all, i am determind to read back on some threads to catch up and be more aware of whats going on. Hugs to every-one, Love Elaine“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. been wandering about the boards and it never fails to amaze me what strange people are out there. Would you consider marrying someone who is already planning the divorce settlement and is planning a secret off shore account?
anyway I digress....must do some shopping later and renew my library books.
apart from that I have promised myself to have finished this essay before sunset!!x x x0 -
Good morning!:hello:
Happy Birthday Soba - :bdaycake:
We had a lovely time at ds's yesterday! He his gf and our dd had got together and made a lovely roast dinner and decorated the flat with pretty balloons, as Winnie the Pooh says "who can be uncheered by a balloon?" I was very spoiled with beautiful flowers and some lovely sanctuary products.
Today my big sis and her oh from Wales are coming to stay (if the weather allows) and tomorrow we have to drive to Sheffield (is it snowing up there?)for her oh's Mums funeral. So sad so close to Mothers day! She was such a lovely lady, the kind whose smile would light up a room and will be missed so much!
I have made up the bed in spare room and have a loaf of bread on the go in the bm. Just need to start off a stew in the sc for a warming welcome and think of a suitable pud (apple and mincemeat crumble?) Despite being on a diet I fully intend to impress her with my attempt at Kaz's welshcake recipe. I promise not to eat too many!;)
Moggins - Good luck today ((((Hugs))))
Roz-V - Good luck with the exams, try to get some rest!
((((Hugs)))) for the Pennypincher family - hope you all feel better soon!
More ((((Hugs)))) for Mrs Mix and anyone else feeling poorly

Snow's all gone here - it's hailing hard and looks very dark and miserable...that wind's cold too.
Posted half my ebay parcels - another good week £87 :j Will pack the others up in a bit.
Came back from the post office and sat down, ignoring the housework and watched "The Queen" - wasn't very impressed with it to be honest.
Had the new council tax bill through - £1306....That's £100 more than last year....luckily I'd factored that into the budget so it shouldn't be too hard but it really is a lot of money. In our part of Kent we have to pay 2 lots of water bills too - mains water and sewerage - total of £54 per month - so that's £184 per month now on just water and council tax.
Right - I can't put the ironing off for any longer."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning all. Have had a productive morning so far (work wise) and achieved all but 2 things on my to do list for the day, so that justifies a 10 minute stint on MSE
Bad news yesterday; my favourite aunt (who is more like a best friend/sister than an "aunt") has breast cancer & is going into hospital tomorrow. It's been caught very early & she should be fine, but it doesn't stop me worrying about her.
Healthy eating starts again today, so pasta primavera tonight - no wine, no pud, no nibbles at 5pm cos I'm peckish, and I must get to the gym. Hopefully I'll be able to go at about 4ish & miss the mad after-work rush.
Hugs to all those under stress/the weather and happy birthday to Soba. I bought myself a belated birthday present yesterday - a red leather weekend bag from M&S (They're mega reduced at the mo & I've always wanted one). Now I'm all excited about staying out for work tomorrow night because I get to use it :T
enjoy the sunshine, if you have any! :wave:0 -
Hiya
In middle of cleaning kitchen, but having a 5 min break as lo is asleep.
Got my cbt again today then off to tesco for some shopping, still to write list for that:rolleyes:
Was snowing heavy this morn but has stopped now, snow is gone already!
Happy Birthday Soba enjoy your day

Hugs to all

been wandering about the boards and it never fails to amaze me what strange people are out there. Would you consider marrying someone who is already planning the divorce settlement and is planning a secret off shore account?
I think you'll find the clue's in the phrase "secret off shore account"...... but I know what you mean. That said when we bought this house off my Mum's estate (basically I had to buy out my "lovely" sisters) we had a document drawn up to say that the majority of the money had come from me - my solicitor insisted as he said I was already rock bottom emotionally and didn't want to see anything else happen to me. DH was in the room all the time though and agreed as well.
I just had to share this with you all though. I've just been speaking to my friend at work who is extremely ragged off with one of the other secs (I sympathise as I try not to bother with this one as more than 5 mins of her "it only goes in if it's on X-factor or in Take A Break" attitude gets on my wick e.g. "who is Gordon Brown then? Is he important?" I rest my case....). Anyway, she has been cheered up somewhat by in the post today there being two envelopes which have not had their stamps cancelled - so she is off to the kitchen to steam them off for personal use!!!! :rotfl: And I thought I was tightBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Good luck for today moggins/
Have got two wash loads on the line outside - dishes are in the washer and pea and ham soup is in the slow cooker.
Sitting here with a tray of tea feeling downright decadent.
Elaine
