The only interesting thing about these books, as far as I can tell, is the way it shows how unbelievably powerful social medias have become!

Everyone - everyone - is talking about those books on Facebook, Twitter, countless forums... Heck, even here! They don't even need to be good, they just needed to be talked about and people WILL buy them. I find it mind-blowing how quickly and widely the interest has spread! The author must have become a millionaire practically overnight.

A subs contract needs as many appendices as necessary, or else it needs to be rewritten.
Nothing stays the same, we all change and grow, things change, it's not written in stone, nor should it be.
Kids come along, you can't expect the same things to go on when they are around. Or at least you shouldn't, although one BDSM book I've read, says that you should tell your kids what is going on, needless to say, the writers have no kids :D
    Anyway, appendices are fine :)

Everyone at work was going on about these books and I hadn't even heard of them! Think I'd been hiding under a stone, as I'm an avid reader...

So I downloaded the 1st book - its ok, but I don't think its that 'naughty' and some of the overused phrases and words wind me up, when I finished the 1st book tho, I was intrigued to find out what happened, so got the other two. I'm half way through book 2 now, and its getting boring, its too the same.

They are 'ok' books, but nothing special in my opinion. For some reason I'm imagining Grey as Ewan McGregor, not too sure why!

I'm off to look into "backstage pass and rock hard" now lol!

I read it. It's awful. Badly written, inauthentic characters, dull (non-existent) plot and worst of all.... really tame sex!

You get more filth from Jilly Cooper, frankly. If you want real erotic writing, try something like Georges Bataille's Story of the Eye and stay away from this rubbish.

I'm one of those who loved the series I read all 3 in about 10 days I was addicted. I have also got all the rest of my work team (all girls) on to it too. It had it flaws don't get me wrong but it was an easy read and enjoyable and great for getting lost for a few hours.

For the film I am hoping for Alexander Skarsgård (Eric in True Blood) to play Christian & Anne Hathaway for Ana

I read all three ages ago...yes it's extremely badly written but I had to read to the end out of stubborn-ness!
I found the s3x extremely tame and Ana so annoying I wanted to punch her!

Have to say though...I disagree with most of the people I've heard being touted for the film...mainly because they look completely different to how they've been described in the book. I mean, the amount of times it's mentioned that Christian has copper hair and they want to cast a blonde fella??!

I really enjoyed these books, read them all in a week. I really like the characters although there was a few occasions I wanted to slap Ana myself.

I like trashy books so guess thats why I really liked these books lol. I like being able to read easy books after spending all day in the office talking police and stratergies.

I cant wait to see who they pick to play the main characters but I would pick:

    Ana - Dianna Agron
    Christian - Ian Somerhalder
    Elena - Kim Catrall
    Kate - Kate Hudson

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!

Like many of you I read them as work colleagues were saying the trilogy was the best thing since sliced bread. Well what a let-down!

Out of sheer hope that something exciting had to happen at the end I finished the books and thought - well that was a waste of my time and money! I think that the way it has been portrayed as "mommy !!!!!!" in the media is very undermining for mums in their 30s as it almost implies that this is something we would actually like to happen to us?!

I think if you find it even remotely erotic then you have obviously never had s3x or the s3x you are getting is very dissatisfying. I have to say it did nothing for me at all and my husband was told that once i started reading this he would be worn out because I would be demanding intercourse all the time. Well, boy was he disappointed!

The ending? What was that all about?? Talk about an anti-climax.
