I usually look like I'm wearing a bad wig - mind you it has been ages since I had a weave. What do you have done with yours then?? :)

Relaxer! Cause I can't deal with an afro. :D My relaxer is £55 then trim £10, treatment £10, so usually around £75 every 8 weeks. I would LOVE to find somehwere cheaper but I'm so scared of trying somewhere new and getting scalp burns.

Pleased the hair is nice wdiag - though I have to say you're braver than me in deciding to wash your weave!

Though I've washed it before, I think I might let the hairdresser do it, as she said she'd charge £10 to wash & blow-dry it for me. If I cut back on something (God knows what), I should be able to wash it after two weeks myself, then get her to wash it for me two weeks after that. I'll only then be paying once a month. I'm going to give it a go myself first though. :)

After just over a year of treatment, to finally have enough hair that's strong enough & long enough to have a weave has made me feel like a woman again. I feel like I should be running through a field shaking my head all over the place - I can't stop touching it. :D

Sounds like the best birthday present to yourself of all!! :T:T

I'm such a wuss - I can't stand how cold the chemicals is on my head, and finding ways of maintaining relaxed hair down here in the South is such a nightmare that I don't even bother anymore - braid extensions all the way for me!! :o:o

    Hi WDIAG

Have just spent the last hour reading all your posts................really happy for you and how you've turned everything around.

Just wanted to know, as i'm about to go down the BR road, will your OR review your situation every 12 months or will you be paying £50 a month for the whole 36 months?

Thanks in advance for an answer

It's supposed to be £50 for 36 months. However, they will review it whenever you report a change of circumstances to them, so it could go up if your income increases. £50 is the minimum IPA, so if you can't afford that they have to either suspend the IPA until your circumstances improve or stop the IPA altogether.

Glad you had a great day and you feel good having all the hair albeit with a headache, at least you know it won't last long.

4 July - My headache had gone by this morning :j, but my head's still very aware that something's attached to it that wasn't there yesterday morning. :D

I've been sorting through my clothes to find something decent to wear to that club tomorrow night - I'm down to black trousers, either a rust or red sleeveless top & a taupe cardi with tiny little coloured stones sewn on it. I'll be topping that off with a taupe & cream jacket, & either a black or taupe bag. I can't believe it, but I feel so nervous about going, as it's ages since I've really dolled myself up to go somewhere.

My eyebrows & armpits are all sorted, & I did a nice facial this morning - it felt like Mikey from Big Brother had mixed it as I got a bit carried away with the bits I put in it, :o but my skin's as smooth as a baby's botty now. :D I also found my gorgeous red nail varnish, so that will be going on first thing tomorrow morning. I'm going to do some light exercise this evening, just to give my lungs a bit of a heads-up on what they can expect tomorrow night - I intend to dance until my feet give way. :D

I looked after my friend's cat today, as it got in the way the last time she was decorating. When she came to get it earlier this afternoon, it did the wall of death a couple of times in my bedroom, so I think she's up for a rough night with it. :D
