251078530065 This is the Ebay number of the same bag (probably not the same colour) and it is on at £285 or best offer.

    Hi,

Thanks for that, i have just had a look and it is the same style but mine is the swirl one which is more sought after.

i found some on Coggles which is a Paul Smith reseller they had been reduced dramatically but are out of stock, i emailed them and she said they had been out of stock for ages and wasnt intending to get any more in.

i have tried to explore different avenues to get another but i am at a loss. i have rang paul smith the other day and they are sending me over a letter to confirm the bag cost etc.

So will see how it all pans out with the insurance. :)

What a horrible thread. Some people on here really need to spend a few quid on charm school.

Last time I checked you didn't have to be on the breadline to use this site and if OP wants to buy herself an expensive handbag after saving hard then thats her prerogative.

OP, I hope you get the resolution you deserve and please do ignore the idiots.

i would have thought someone with as many posts as yourself would think about what you post before you post it

its been said many salons have notices up advising that chemicals are being used and to come in old clothing if you are having your hair done to look like a witch

the salon also offered a very reasonable £100 for what is probably a copy bought on the banks of venice waiting for their boat from very nice men with big big smiles:D

oh and this is a moneysaving forum we dont do £695 baggies or rattling watches

    message ends............

Some of us do - not all of us are 'poor' but prefer to spend our money wisely to pay for luxuries in life.

I do not have an expensive bag but I have expensive boots and I have my beloved Pandora bracelet that is probably worth £700 now. And our holiday for 4 usually costs around 8k.

Just because YOU do not have anything expensive or something you have worked hard to pay for, don't expect others to be the same way. Not all of us want to dress in Primark!! People can spend their money on whatever they want, regardless of how much it costs as long as they are not robbing someone for it or getting into debt and expecting to have it written off..... there is one board on this forum dedicated to helping people go bankrupt, so encouraging people to spend what they like and then just get the whole lot written off.

Some people sacrifice a lot for something they really want so why should they not have nice things and be able to post here as well?

Green is not a very nice colour you know!!

Don't be scared off by a few idiots - mind you, there are a few on the forums these days. I'd do as poet says and send the letter giving them 14 days to pay you. And do it too, they will have to pay any costs incurred by you doing this.

Oh, and Radley make much better bags you know. :D

    Well said!
We work hard for what we have, OH and I don't drink, don't smoke and don't gamble. If we choose to spend our hard earned on handbags and watches then why the heck not!

This site is aimed at people who want to save money. Nowhere in the sign up process does it state you have to be on the breadline to use it!

Thanks! I love radley too, but i have a very big weakness for Paul Smith. And again thanks, i know my bag was a lot but in a way that was my point on it was that the salon was being the way they was because they didnt feel it right i had spent so much on a bag!

Paul Smith has sent me the letter now so i am going to try and contact their insurance.

    thanks :) xxx

    I
What would concern me more is that the hair salon didn't have the actual colour you wanted but you carried on and let them do your hair in a different shade. Why?

I think what you might learn from this is not to spend £695 on a handbag!!

Prior to booking i called and they told me they had the brighter reds but when i arrived they hadnt, she said she would put the colour in question on and mix it with something else that would brighten it. I trusted what she said.

I had asked her several times before she put it on and she assured me it would lift and not too worry. i had said that every other time i have had it done it was a brighter read which had a bleach in it to lift the colour. i was dubious but she reassured me that it would.

She had also put on a semi permanent without telling me, it was only when she washed my hair then applied it wet i queried it!i stopped her and said how come you putting on wet, and it was then she said it was semi! i thought it was a permanent colour i had paid for.

Op, have you tried making them a counter offer, £200 perhaps? This would be more reasonable.

You have clearly shaken them for them to come back and make an offer. If you booked an appointment with the salon then the relationship between the salon and the stylist isn't really anything to do with you - your claim would be with the salon. If however you phoned and asked to 'make an appointment with X person' your claim may be against the self-employed individual (although this doesn't sound like it is the case).

Also consider putting your complaint in writing.

A few more points (sorry if these have already been covered, the thread has got very long):

    - you do NOT need a solicitor to deal with their insurance company
    - they DO have a duty of care, and this absolutely does extend to not damaging your property
    - ignore some of the pathetic remarks on this thread, it seems you have come under a lot of unnecessary criticism over what seems to be a very valid complaint
    - make them aware you will not take their nonsense and would not hesitate to pursue them legally if they are not more forthcoming
    - claiming on YOUR home insurance would be a very last resort. I fail to see why you should loose out because of their error

Let us know how it works out
