    I've been Money Tipped!
OK - I changed to Tigerino on Sunday evening - mixed feelings so far.

Poo is easy to scoop out and the smell seems pretty contained (if you know what I mean :D).

With wee, I don't think the clumping is the best I've ever tried (ahem, the cats have tried) as the clump did break up a bit with scooping but, again, the smell is OK.

The real problem is that my old girl is a bit enthusiastic with her digging and she sort of throws herself in and out of the tray... this stuff is lighter than the usual stuff and it is being thrown everywhere. More sedate cats shouldn't make so much mess though ;).

I won't be beaten yet; I'm going to buy a tray with a rim and hope that it catches some of it...... I'll let you know.
    :hello:

I'm wondering if those who've used stuff like Oko, Golden Grey etc may find the clumping less good (but bear in mind they are a lot more expensive) and whether those who've used cheap (sm value) clumping / non clumping may find it good ...... will be interesting to find out!:)

I must admit that I have warmed to it since the first couple of days... I'm not sure if it's because it's been down for a few days, or whether I'm getting used to it, but it doesn't seem as fiddly to get the wee clumps out now.... Still prefer OKO, but this is giving it a run for its money!

Unless something drastically changes over the next week or so, and if the prices stay as they are now, I think I would probably get the Tigerino next time I buy, purely for the fact that it is almost as good as the OKO, but quite a bit cheaper....

And I wonder what kind of scoops is everyne using? That can make the differnce... me thinks..hmmmmm

Also, what PaddyPaws was wondering - does each ca't pee clump differently?

With OKO some clumped well and were easy to scoop and some were breaking up...

Never happened with Golden Grey, all consistent clumps easy to get out - with OKO it waries (with my 4 boys anyway).

Will see from thr weekend with Tigerino...

Has anyone worked out the NORMAL price of OKO and Tigerino per litre when they are NOT on offer?

    FridayCat?

I bought a holey one from PAH yesterday as I've always just used a kid's toy spade :o

Prices from Zoo+ (no offers on either now):

    Tigerino is £15.99 for a 30L bag (53p / Litre) but only £27.99 for 60L (2 x 30L ordered together @ 47p / Litre)

You can't get Oko in 30L bags or 2 x 30L bags but it's is 65p / Litre if you buy either 20L or 40L - so that would work out at £19.50 equivalent for 30L.or £39 for 60L

So .... certainly if you bought the 2 x 30L Tigerino ones, it's a pretty decent saving if it lasts around the same length of time.

I've never noticed a difference in the way wee clumps with OKO between cats, all pretty consistent with my 5 and still is - one scoop gets it out, the same scoop doesn't get all the Tigerino out: there is one "main" clump and then 2 - 3 much smaller bits that you have to get out separately per wee.

I think rising has "done the math". :T

    Rising, thanks for that....

so... at 20 litres per month x 12 months = 120 litres per year

    OKO - £78
    Tigerino - £56.50

Provided I only use 20 litres of Tigerino per month for my 4 boys ofcourse.. will see....

EDIT - I am an idiot

20 per month is 240 per year

so Oko 156 and Tigerino 113

:eek::eek::eek: only 43 difference per year?

    still, always something...
  • Might depend on what you use now - but, yes, any saving is good.

    If I take your 20L / month for 4 cats = 5L / month per cat

    So, for my 2, that'd be 10L / month or 120L / year = 2 lots of the 2 x 30L Tigerino bags = £56 / year :D

    OMG .... sorry but that's a huge saving for me :o as currently spending £12 - £15 / month = £144 - £180 / year
