  • Brilliant, thanks Friday - and for the info on FIP (new one on me!).

  • Well - things still going really well with the new litter so fingers crossed that's me converted!:D

    • No dust at all
    • Clumps well (I have the same thing with some wees clumping in one lump & others breaking up - do you think it could be to do with how errrr desperate the cat was & errrr resulting flow rate:rotfl:?)
    • Both cats using it
    • Hardly any wastage
    • No horrible smells :)
    • Tracking - wee bit but a most is on the free mat that I got with my order ;) & certainly better than the wood pellets
Anyway, I opened one of the big bags (which should hopefully last me a good couple of months) - so it may be a while before I can report back on how economical it is to use.....

I echo all of this. Compared to the supermarket stuff that I had used - this is AMAZING. I know it's probably different for everyone that used other premium brands, but the difference is staggering to me. And so much cheaper! I worked it out, and if this lasts as long as I think it should, it's costs me 60p each week.

AND I won't be coughing up clay and catshit on my deathbed.:T

    Sorry but I disagree.

Having used it for over a week now, I'm starting to see some of the disadvantages vs. OKO and will be sticking to OKO when the time comes to replenish supplies.

Example - there were two wees in each of the two trays this evening. The OKO tray? It took 2 scoops to get them out: bish, bash, bosh - no messing. The Tigerino tray? I am not kidding, it took around 6 - 7 scoops! The "main" bit comes out, then I have to scoop lots of little bits and am constantly "raking " the litter to get them all. Took about 4 times longer.

This sometimes happens with the OKO, but it is very much the exception rather than the rule. With Tigerino, it is the rule rather than the exception.

Initially I thought this was a minor inconvenience, but now having had it down for a while, it is clear that it leads to another issue....

I filled both trays to about the same level when I did the change over. Both trays have been used around the same amount of times. BUT because I am scooping so much more with the Tigerino, the level in the tray after just one week is MUCH lower than the level of OKO left. The OKO will easily last until next weekend whereas I think the Tigerino has only 2 - 3 days left.

So, it comes back to that same old thing: even though it's cheaper, if you need to use more, it's a false economy.

So not only does it take me much longer to get rid of waste, it's not saving me money despite being cheaper, hence why it's back to the OKO for our five :T

OK- I actually find Tigerino clumping better/easie to scoop than OKO.

OKO was breaking up - Tigerino is not

That mean - your cat pee and my cat pee are different.

As Paddypaws also used both Oko and Tigerino - wonder what she will say?

23.17 on Sunday night and we are discussing cat litter - we are not sad, we are beyond help LOL

    Paddypaws, she say.....YES!
I am quite happy with the Tigerino....remember though that so far I have a kind of mix in both my trays.
I still get some wees that are perfect and others that seem to break up, but had that with OKO, so for half the price I am happy.

mmmm just a thought - I know you're around to scoop several times a day when I know myself & GR etc are out at work & therefore (in my case anyway) generally only get a change to scoop before leaving for work & then after work (and at bedtime if needed).

Wondering if the Tigerino really does need a lot more time to clump properly?
