I love you all!!! Just been accepted for card and can transfer my cahoot loan (where I'm wasting £30 a month in interest) They didn't think it was unusual at all to use it to get rid of a loan so don't panic those of you in a similar situation.
Thanks for making me aware of this Martin - I also got your book the other day and with any luck you'll have me in credit before I know it! I'm now off to buy a laptop using the haggling techniques you mentioned......(and yes I do need it..) x

I just phoned Barclaycard to transfer a balance onto my Mastercard at the special existing customer rate and was told that even tough the ammount I wanted to transfer was within my credit limit I couldn't  do it as I didn't have a high enough credit rating. I find this bizarre as they seem to be credit scoring existing customers who have the available credit on their accounts. Is there any way around this and has anyone else had this experience?
I have experienced the self same thing today with BC. What is this all about. It really caught me off guard. I have asked them to send me a premiership application form to see if i can get the 12 month 0% offer on that as i already have a platinum on the 0% for life. Has anyone been accepted yet?

    Hello
I have barclays mastercard which i only use to pay my protection pa. , also barclays premiumship matercard with a balance which has 0% interest rate for life of debt and have a debt balance on MNBA mastercard a/c with a 0% interest rate until October 2004.

My dilemma is that i would like to transfer the MNBA balance to one of the 12/13 month 0% interest cards.

I not sure if i should try Barclays gold or platimium or would it be better to try MNBA gold or platimum -

Which if any should i apply for???

    Thanks Pat

    Hi Martin

This may sound dumb, but there are several Barclays cards to choose from. The best one for me would be a Student card, but does this come with the 0% offer until Aug 2005? If not, which one does?

  • I am one of 3 people I know who applied for the new offer when it was launched on the 2nd June....none of us has received either our cards or rejection letters, has anyone actually received theirs? (I am referring to the 0% 'til August 2005 offer).

At this rate of processing we'll only have 12 months max....or perhaps that's part of Barclays 'cunning plan'?! ???

Posted my application on Fri 4th June, assuming they would get it by Tues 8th because of the lousey postal service we now have.
Rang them today, confirmed I had been accepted and card on it`s way, only to be activated when I get it.
So less than two weeks, well done Barclays, thats the fastest I`ve ever got ANY CC.

    ps
I`d hardly call 0% for even 12 months "a cunning plan"
The yokers at Egg took over a month with their "six" month offer!!

Posted mine on June 6th. Got a pin number through the door yesterday so I assume the card is on its way too. Not bad considering the application was sent pre-paid 2nd class.

Received my application and posted it first class on 2 June. Heard nothing since.
I have five stars! This doesn't mean that I know anything about any of the things I post. I could be a raving lunatic, or a brilliant genius, or just some guy on the internet. In fact, I could be all three at the same time.

If anything I say makes sense, then do it. If not, don't. Don't blame me or my stars if you do something stupid because I suggested it. I'm responsible for my own stupidity only. You are responsible for yours.

Why, I don't even have five stars anymore! Aren't you glad you aren't responsible for my stupidity?
