Another week gone by and silence is deafening on the customer compensation front. Are they waiting for large numbers to leave before they compensate those that stay loyal?

I dunno what they are playing at, I don't use them for any banking I just had a student account and CC with them which needs a few quid thrown at it each month hopefully I will get it paid off within the next year.

Who knows when we will hear about any compensation I am not holding my breath waiting on it. I would just like my account sorted out. minus over £400 which they owe me admit they owe me but can't tell me when I am going to get it credited to my account. Ulster Bank is far from sorted out and nobody knows what is happening. Due to be paid again on Friday they had better let me have access to my full months salary and leave account in the minus until they sort themselves out.

They certainly already had enough time during the three or so weeks that they system was messed up (and it still seems to have problems for some people) to think up compensation.

Seems counterproductive to say nothing as of course it increases the likelihood of people taking their business elsewhere the longer they leave it.

I'd guess that there might be some legal hurdles as regards offering compensation as it might fall foul of banking competition rules. Myabe they're working those issues out but they would seriously need to get a move on if they are planning to compensate.

Our Politicians have been totally useless through this whole mess. They should be jumping up and down on our behalf, hardly a word on the the news in the past weeks. If this was happening in England we would be sick listening to it.

i have just noticed 2 charges of £10 debited from my UB account today, these are for unpaid item fees on 29th june ( during the whole fiasco)
they could not tell me why or when they would be returned to me.
contacted utv and have taped a piece with Jamie Delargy for broadcast tonight... very embarrassed about this, will apprear like a buffling babboon, mouth was like the sahara.
but if it hightlights the fact that our accounts are still being scr**ed
it may have been worth it.

Checked my Ulster account & as of this afternoon, the £35 car insurance payment isn't showing on my account debits...
And I'm all up & running with Barclays,no problems & my ESA was in my account Saturday morning as usual.

Looking at my statement on 16th July I have 2 card transactions that have been duplicated, I phoned to enquire and was told there had been an issue on that day with duplicates, was anyone else effected, I asked when it would be refunded and got told they didn't know.

My mortgage is with Ulster Bank, thankfully not my current account. They still haven't taken out their direct debit due on 6 July. Rang them today and they said technical difficulties and they don't know when it will be resolved. Letter of complaint sent. The IT problems must be a lot worse than they are letting on, if they are not even collecting money they are owed.
Anyone else have problems with their mortgage DD?

My car insurance payment still hasn't been taken from my account & my Sky payment went out yesterday despite being due on 14th,I'm pretty sure that one bounced because of all these !!!! ups & both direct debits being cancelled early in July due to me changing to Barclays.
So I've a dilema...my Sky payment has put me overdrawn & the car payment's not showing up,so do I leave the money in my Barclays account on the off-chance the payments fail in the Ulster account there,or transfer money back to the Ulster just in case they go thru?
Is the a time limit as to when the paying bank cannot recall the direct debits?
