Anyone trying the Aldi serum and night cream, what age range are you? I'm a bit confused about what skincare I should be using as I'm 27, have started to get one deep frown line on my forehead and a few very fine lines around my eyes. But I still get spots and have annoying combination skin, with greasy T-zone and cheeks that are prone to dryness. I also have tiny red broken veins along my cheeks, I think from years of blowing my nose with hayfever 8 months a year.
.
I'm 32 and found it ok, I use the basic serum, and was using the Lidl daycream, which I also used as a night cream as find the night creams too heavy. I too have combination skin and the broken blood vessels on the sides of my nose and a few fine lines around the eyes.
Sometimes they bother me, usually depends on my mood but been told I don't look 32 a couple times over the last few monthsI'm of the believe that a lot of things affect your skin/face, diet, exercise, lifestyle, environmental influences plus your skin care and it's a combination of all of these together.

Which serum of Aldi are you using? Mine has 2 varieties, I think one is a brightening serum and can't remember the other one??0

Think i used the multi-intensive serum, the range is detailed on the website. Used on my face & neck, skin tingled first couple times so goes easy think I used too much and then settled down. For £3.49 a bargain!0 -
jumped on the treadmill this evening and did a mile! very glad that I bothered to do it!0

I am so glad you posted this! I passed Aldi earlier so popped in to get some, found they had 3 different ones so picked the one with the most impressive-sounding ingredients, lol - 'Aqua Complete Multi-intensive serum'
I just used it after cleansing my face, and it immediately started to tingle and feel hot. I was a bit worried I was going to be horribly allergic to it, I checked on here about to ask which one is everyone using, and found someone else has asked and EH has mentioned the tingling dies down with use. And yes, I think I might have used too much.
Going to try it on its own for now, didn't buy the night cream as I didn't know which one -there seem to be loads of different ones! And figured as most night cream is too thick for me I'd try it on its own or just use up the myriad of day creams I have and am not fussy on for day - including the Clinique yellow one, which everyone raves about but doesn't seem to do anything for me...
Hope everyone's enjoyed the somewhat better weather today!0 -
Good morning everyone - a bit dark and miserable here this morning - more rain on the way I think.
Re Skin Care - where to start:rotfl:
I'm afraid it many ways it's trial and error.
The thing to remember is that the skin is the largest organ of the body and as such it is a reflection of your general health. Stress, lack of sleep, insufficient water, poor diet, rough handling, using the wrong products, allergic reactions etc will all play a part in how your skin looks and feels.
Right now my skin feels dry, sore, itchy. I look pale and tired. My pesky DS2 keeps taking photos of me at the moment - trying out new lenses etc on his camera. He insists on doing close-ups so he can get the focus right.:eek:
Seriously my skin looks terrible. You can look in the mirror and delude yourself - however the camera reveals the ghastly truth. My skin is dry and itchy and yet still has open pores, so I've resolved to try and tackle both. Extra care with cleansing and face masks. I did the asprin face mask yesterday - just on the T-zone.
Re the Aldi range. They have had very good reviews and consistently come out as one the best budget ranges. They compare very well with the Boots Protect range which tend to be abound the £20 mark.
Unfortunately I cannot use either the Aldi or the Boots P&P ranges. I got the tingling, burning sensation too. I persevered for a couple of weeks then gave up.
For reasons of economy I have tried several cheap and cheerful brands but with no real success. I always used to be a Clinique girl and I am thinking of going back to their products.
Over the past couple of years I have probably wasted a fair bit of money on trying out new products - probably enough to pay for Clinique - a little goes a long way. BTW I don't throw mistakes away I just use them up on my knees, elbows and feet.
When I did my beauty training we used Dermoligica products and they suited me very well. Unfortunately they are very expensive.
Had a lovely time with my niece yesterday - she's just 13 - a real beauty, tall slim leggy and she resembles Nicole Kidman. She's horse mad and a real sweetie.
Time to start the day - ironing, painting furniture, visiting OH.
Have a great day.0 -
I must have skin like a buffalo's behind then - no tingling with me!
I'm running out and will have to pick some more up soon, £3.49 a bargain!
Its like a blo*dy monsoon here - rain bouncing off the floor. Just got drenched out with the dog, not fun. Bit of excitement, I saw my gay best friend's husband on the news this morning, he's a local councillor and was pontificating on expenses but looked good! Should ask him what cream he uses!
Was going running today but won't go in this weather, will probably swim instead as that got sidelined yesterday as I got a request from the headteacher for some info and I'm hoping for a promotion this year so spent most of the day compiling the most comprehensive report ever - she probably thinks its overkill but at least its done now.
I also need to do the housework ready for mum's visit tomorrow and pop to the shops for a few bits.
Getting fed up of the rain now - its so restricting isn't it?:mad:0 -
Good morning everyone
Back from hols in depths of Devon. Couldn't follow on my phone because seemingly 3G connections is a mythical beast down there :rotfl:
Was a holiday of mixed blessings, had 3 days on the beach with the kids but sadly H has been shafted at work and will be unemployed as of the end of September  Saving grace is he has a good payout (since I don't work we're gonna need it ) and they've agreed to garden leave so tomorrow is his last day in the office. Anyway shan't waffle on, we for the moment have a home, our health and heaps more than others do I just feel bad for him
My holiday however has confirmed one thing.......I've missed using my bodyboard  i bought a proper one (cost £150) for my 18 birthday but stopped using it when I put on weight (didn't fit wetsuit) and hasn't been used since I've had the kids. So therein lies my motivation to get slim.......I have a wetsuit and a bodyboard and I am using them next summer hols:D
Fasting was hit and miss on some of the days. The days I ate brekkie I ate so much more food  anyway back to it today now I am home.
Sorry there are so many pages to cach up on too much to respond to individually but hope you are all ok xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

OOoh, can I pick your brain about treadmills? I am saving up for one as I feel so much better when I exercise, but with two kids and a part time job (sometimes more like full time) and rotten weather some days I just can't get out....when I don't exercise I feel rubbish and tbh get quite depressedI've been looking at all sorts, from electric to manuals, and the one I like best is £300 ish...can I ask what you use and if you have any advice prease
