Sitting here with my face lift face mask on, having done the oil cleansing. Back to basics for me because I have been a bit neglectful of myself of late. Need to up the Fabbing quota.

As you know I went grain free for a couple of weeks - tried some bread on Saturday:eek: A return of all my old symptoms. My tummy is still grumbling away and I feel exhausted, a complete energy free zone. However, on a positive note - at least I know for sure now that wheat really is a problem. No more guess work.

Had a lovely day yesterday with DS1, he got stuck in and did the really heavy garden clearance. We had a great time chatting and working together with some nice "snack" breaks.

We discussed the possibility of him moving back here for a while so that he could save more for a house deposit. Needless to say I would love that.....having both my "babies" back home:D.

Talk about the "Boomerang Generation". :rotfl: I think it does make financial sense though for them both to be here for a while whilst they save for deposits and I'm perfectly happy to have them around - I don't even mind their smelly socks....

I cannot believe that we are nearing the end of August - what about summer???. If we don't get a decent September then we've had it. I desperately need to get some outside work done before autumn gets too established. At least the sun is starting to break through now.

Right time for my bath and get the day started.

    Have a great day.

WW - your schedule sounds gruelling. I wish I had half of your energy. However, you have inspired me to start planning....

I am going to look into doing some courses this autumn so will start some research this week. I just need to finish getting the house ready to market. I am behind schedule so I need to go for the "Big Push" now.

    Manana.

I've just run my first ever full 5K without stopping!!!:j:j:j

Well, it was actually 5.2K and the time won't rival Mo Farrah but I did it. I was talking to my hairdresser in the park with the dogs this morning (he runs) and he said that its all about mental attitude. If you think you can't do it you won't, he said that if you can run 80% of the way you can run the whole thing you just need to believe you can. I tried it and guess what it works!!

I'm so pleased with myself (hope nobody minds me celebrating?) as only 6 or 7 weeks ago I didn't even own a proper pair of trainers and wouldn't/couldn't run. I'm a 40 year old woman that hadn't really exercised for at least 5 years (apart from dog walking) and now I swim a mile twice a week and am doing my first proper 5K race on Sunday - if I can do it anyone can.

I can just see you with a houseful of young strapping men and being the foreman! Hope your boys do come back home to roost!

With regards to the gruelling schedule - I'm not happy unless I'm planning something, doing something or writing a list:p I don't do relaxing really, apart from an hour or two of telly in the evening (soaps and dramas).
What kind of course are you thinking of doing?

    Morning all,

WW - that's fantastic, go you :j am so impressed, and if you can do it today you can rock it on Sunday!

Been a busy weekend so will have a catch up with everyone's posts a bit later on. The Dr Who thing on Sat was great, really enjoyed it, though am sworn to secrecy on any spoilers :rotfl:came out of the cinema and it was absolutely chucking it down, thought 'oh god, this is not beach weather!' but apparently everyone was still going so drudged down - and we were actually really luckily as it dried up when we got there and was quite fun. Did a few on the promenade thing and then a few actually on the beach for OH to film. Then yesterday we had the Paralympics torch ceremony - didn't realise we were actually closing the show after they lit the cauldron which was quite exciting, Joe McEldery is now our support act! :rotfl:It was funny as our boss went and grabbed him after he'd finished to come and get his piccie taken with us - some of the women screaming and elbowing to the front was hilarious. I was quite happy to hide at the back! The actual performance itself was fantastic though - it was set up outside so like a mini-festival, a good couple of thousand people there. Am not sure if we'll make the telly or not, we'll see!
Anyway, back to reality today as half the people at work off on holidays this week so basically in on my own. After seeing OH most of the weekend as he was filming all the choir things won't see him at all tonight as he's filming two shows until late, and probably not tomorrow either as I have choir. Ah well, was nice while it lasted!
Hope everyone is having a good day x

Well done on the 5k WW:j:j:- that is fantastic news. I must admit that I hadn't realised that you have trained up and go so fit in such a short time. There's hope for me yet. I will get fitter - I promise. I have to do it for me

The course will be DIY for women. It comes in modules.

There is a foundation course - a grounding in using power tools etc. I am ok with sanders, hedge trimmers etc but have never used a drill or an electric saw in my life and I'm a bit jittery.

After that there is one called "trowel trades" - basic plastering & tiling and hopefully after that some simple joinery and carpentry. I'll leave the plumbing and electrics to the experts.

They are all run by a private construction training company so they tend to be more short intensive courses run during the day rather than the usual couple of hours a week evening classes. That way of working and studying suits me better.

I also fancy something really light-hearted and less "worthy". Maybe dance of some sort. Will have to see what is around.

Pod Your weekend sounds fun and action packed. Glad it all went so well. I must admit I'm missing choir - I'll be glad when it starts up again.

    Off to see OH now.

    Thanks Maman.
Just another 5K on Weds, a little 2.5K on Friday to keep the legs moving and then the real thing on Sunday - that's the plan anyway!

    Wow, go WW!
  • Well done WW :T

Do you have a parkrun near you? (http://www.parkrun.org.uk/) It's a 5k every Saturday morning, free but timed and very sociable.
