hey everyone, thankfully both me and H are back in the land of the living :D I don't EVER want to feel that poorly again.
i cant honestly say there is much fabbing going on, first day of feeling human. However i am giving ida Notions NoSDiet a go. Have been rushiing about like a mad thing which has made my first day today rather a breeze. i suspect it won't stay like this :rotfl: I am still doing the mindful eaing but its habit snacking that is my downfall so lets see how things pan out.

Podperson - sounds like the wedding was a great learning experience. i confess my wedding photographer wasnt there all day but I never actually considered how much work might go into taking the pictures :o

evll - i am sure you can make some impact with 6 weeks to go :)

Ever hopeful - don't feel obliged to respond to everyone, it's just nice to see you posting x

Lizzie, glad finger is a bit less swollen x

Rachel well done on getting a exercise class buddy, just try not to become too reliant, it's easy to say nah I won't bother if you're not going etc. have been there in the past LOL

    Rosetta welcome :)

WW hope you're not feeling sick anymore x

Sparkles crossed fingers for assignment x

Madrabbitgirl good idea writing down your goals for week, might pinch that idea :)

Callisto hope body adjusts to new tablets soon xxx

Hugs and spoons all round xxx sorry if I've missed anyone in my catch up :o

Ta da!! I'm back! Hangover gone (still a bit ropey this morning though):o
Hope everyone is ok - Bitsy good to see that you're feeling better, Pod, how much work:eek:
Well done to all those sweating in their living rooms (whatever happened to a spot of light dusting?:rotfl:) and those being more careful with food.

Unfortunately I seem to have pulled a hamstring - no idea how, just got up from a stool in work and went to walk and there it was - am hobbling a bit but have walked the dog, no hardcore exercise today though. Will try a bath and maybe a soak will help it?
Food has been fairly good, but I did scoff a bourbon and choc digestive before thinking about it at a meeting today - stopped there though - an improvement for me.
To be honest I am feeling much flatter and a bit more toned so its an incentive to carry on, I think the exercise is changing my shape even if there isn't massive change on the scales.

    Evening all

Bitsy - glad you are feeling better.

Hugs to those that need them and well dones to all those that have been fabbing and exercising.

Really have gone off the rails the past few days, must get back into it.

Had a lovely afternoon for dad's belated 70th, it was just me and my tribe, mum and my db, sil and dnephew and dneice and Harry the mad dog! So it was very relaxed and fun and we managed to get out in the sun later on in the afternoon. There was plenty of left over food which I have been trying to finish, some healthy some not so.

My plan for the week is to exercise every evening from tomorrow (Shred level 2) and to eat healthy, take my vitamins and to make sure I drink plenty of water.

Have a good one all xx

    Good Evening Everyone

Just thought I'd drop by and say hello.

Glad to see you are all doing well. Poor Bitsy that sounded awful - glad to see you are on the mend now.

Well done everyone on all the new things, the lists etc. - sounds like some great game plans.

Madrabbitgirl (what a funny name :rotfl: - love it - I'm not sure I dare ask for an explanation though:o) I think the idea of "Getting Organised" is fab. I'm working on this one - but it is a bit of a work in progress.

Well here's my contribution to the "Try one new thing a week challenge". With your permission I shall call it the "Weekly Wish List".

Anyway - my new thing was Ta, Da...... Tonight I got out of the house and joined a choir. It was Fab. I can't remember when I had such fun.

You can't beat belting out a few pop songs to cheer you up. I shall definitely go again.

I was pleasantly surprised to find I still have a voice although I shall definitely have to work on some breathing exercises. I found that I didn't always have quite enough breath for some of the longer phrases.

Many years ago I used to sing in the Church choir and as a teenager I used to get up on stage and "guest" with some of the local bands. I'd forgotten just how much I love singing.

Tomorrow I'm having my eyes tested and I intend treating myself to some nice new trendy glasses.

Mum doing well, walking with a zimmer frame. OH holding his own.

Have tackled some paperwork today and have now framed all my new pictures ready for hanging - will get DS2 to help with that on his day off. Need to dig out some of his photos to display.

Yes PP I know exactly how much work is involved in wedding photos. My sister used to run a photo lab with a separate studio for portraits. I think sometimes people look at the photographer's rates and think I can do that for a fraction of the price. Well maybe - but their labour would be free.

I think a lot of customers think the photographer just rolls up on the day and prances around like David Bailey. They don't realise all the back room work involved. Anyway I'm glad you enjoyed it and let's hope you get loads more commissions.

    You'll like this one.

As a matter of interest the lab and studio were in Teddington in London - just a stone's throw from the film studios. My sis used to develop a lot of their stills work and has met loads of stars. Some delightful and charming - some less so. She had to sign all sorts of confidentiality agreements etc so I can't name names for this little story.

She once had to do a passport photo for a certain statuesque actress who was an ex girlfriend of a certain body builder turned actor turned state governor.

My sis said that the actress made her work for hours, fussed and fretted over the finished work, complained and moaned, whinged and whined, insisted on changing her outfits and redoing her makeup - and all for the sake of a passport photo costing a tenner. No tip, just surly bad manners. My sis was fuming. After costs, overheads and expenses her hourly rate of pay would have been well into minus figures, all for the pleasure of being treated badly by a rude "C' list wannabe.

Anyway enough of my prattle. Hope you all have a great week.

Lizzie - read your benefits thread - so sorry to hear that it's all going so wrong, you must be at your wit's end by now.

I have been sent a form by ATOS so I guess they will be taking my ESA away from me anytime now. I don't know whether or not I will qualify for JSA. Luckily I have enough contingency to keep me going when until my pension kicks in in November so I'll be ok. Bit of a b***er though.

We're all in this together, my a**e. :rotfl:

I'm really tired, been awake since 4am and have a headache.

I had a bit of a tummy ache for a few days so stopped taking brufen and it's gone. I think I've overworked my leg, it's really aching. There's no pain though, just the ache. Probably should've stopped the brufen earlier, I'd have felt my leg improving without pushing it too hard :D I'll just stick to stretching for the next week.

LL I love singing, I had some lessons years ago and wasn't half bad, even if I do say so myself :D I love music but haven't belted a song out for ages, I tried the other day and sounded awful, lol. Might try the exercises again, at least then I'll be able to sing along to the radio without sounding like a strangled cat.

I keep decluttering, I'm much happier when things are sorted and tidy. I throw things out/recycle them and put other things in a pile to sell on ebay. But a couple of weeks later, I do it again. I've realised it's not the stuff that's annoying me, it's people :D Need to get rid of everyone. Even the other trus :rotfl:

    Morning everyone

Feel soooo tired today. It was a real effort to walk the dog. Couldn't think why I felt so good yesterday morning and then it occurred to me all the extra water I had been drinking to replace what I'd lost. I've never really noticed the benefits as I am a chronic, long term under drinker and having never been that poorly before (non alcohol related ;)). So guess what my game plan is today :rotfl:

Just the usual basics today, am finding it hard to fit everything in. ok that's probably an excuse it's poor time management so am going to go back to writing my daily list of jobs to complete like I used to only its going to contain not only housework but stuff for me too.

Tru :rotfl: that's certainly a life laundry getting rid of the other Tru's. Hope your headache goes soon x

LL not sure I any good at singing but I would love to join a choir :D

WW ouch to hamstring, hope it's better soon x

Hewie sounds like your dad had a lovely birthday x

    Have a fab day everyone.

  • Hi, I hope everyone is having a good morning!

Lesson learned- My name is because I am mad about rabbits (of the furry floppy eared kind!), nothing rude about it I'm afraid! :D I have a house rabbit who is a constant source of entertainment...and worry! and expense! He has a few health problems, he has seizures, about 4 a month. Despite his seizures he is otherwise a perfectly healthy happy bunny and is usually running about the place like a loon!

Well done on joining the choir! I'm not religious myself, but imaging it must be a very uplifting experience to sing with a group of people (shame I can't sing!).

Tru and Welshwoofer, how are your aches and pains? We do seem to be an achey bunch, it must be all that extra exercise we are doing!

BitsyBeans- Being tired is how I feel the majority of the time, I have to say my energy levels really seem to improve when I am eating more healthily and taking more care of myself.

Everyone else- carry on the good work! Everyone here is a star! :T

Yesterday went pretty well apart from I didn't quite manage to leave the house on time! :( This has been a problem with me for years now. It's mostly because I am disorganized but also because I get a bit panicky before I leave the house so I think part of me wants to put off leaving the house so creates a bit of a distraction for me? ( I need therapy, I know!)

I'm also worrying about the state of my teeth at the mo. I'm ashamed to admit it but I haven't been to the dentist in several years! :o I'm lucky that I've never had toothache but my gums are not in good condition and I'm worried about one tooth in particular. The reason I stopped going was because I was having a lot of work done on my teeth and then one night I saw the receptionist in a club and she came up to me and said that I was being ripped off by my dentist! She didn't explain how and it just left me feeling really mistrustful and I wasn't sure if I even needed the work doing. The thing is, I can't really afford treatment right now. I guess I've just been trying not to think about it. I'm really going to try to start putting some money aside so I can get it sorted. Phew, feels better to get that off my chest! Felt a bit emotional writing that, I guess it's been bothering me more than I thought.

    Hi,

No not a church choir this time, just a Community choir, it's great fun, pop music, show tunes, musicals etc. I think we have been asked to do some carols for Christmas.

I have to confess that I'm not religious any more but I don't mind a few carols.

That was very naughty of the dental assistant to drop a bombshell like that in a social situation and then not follow it up with proper information.

Do try and pluck up courage to visit the dentist though because you could be storing up some serious problems if you neglect the early warning signs.

In the meantime pay close attention to your dental hygiene, plenty of brushing, flossing, those interdental sticks - you should find your gums improve with a bit of TLC.

The whole dentist charging thing is a bit of a problem. I understand that even NHS dentist still have quite high charges. Would something like Denplan help you.

    Morning all,

Sparkles - fingers crossed on the assignment, am sure you will do great!

Lizzie - I must be looking and sounding frazzled as I had the 'make sure you take a break/have some you time' from both my parents and my OH last night as well :o (mind you 10mins later OH was trying to get me to go along to his shoot when he knows I have no time!). Will try and have a break when the next few weeks are out of the way, just seems to be everything on at once at the moment! Your weekend sounds lovely, glad the finger seems a little better x

EH - glad to see you still with us, hope you're feeling better x

ww - hope the hamstring is better today, weird how muscles can go seem to go for no reason sometimes, I often get that and makes no sense to me! Am sure you're toning up with the exercise, did you get round to measuring yet? That was the best thing about the shred for me, didn't lose a huge amount of weight but lots of inches which I think is probably better really. 'mental note, stop putting off starting it again :rotfl:*

Hewie - your dad's birthday sounds lovely, so glad he sounds like he's on the mend.

LL - glad to see you're still checking up on us :D and as you probably guessed am impressed with your new activity :rotfl:I wouldn't worry too much about having the best voice, it's just fun, social and I find it really good stress relief. Have to symphasis with your sis - sounds like some lovely customers there! I think a lot of people do just expect photography to be 'point, click, print and you're done' The bride on this wedding is constantly going on about much she loves photography and wants to get into it so I thought she might have more of an idea about how much work goes into it - but apparently not as she's already asking if they're nearly done! She added me on facebook and has been putting up photos all week that guests have taken - and most of them are awful, glare on the lens, out of focus, blurry, some of the night do are basically black with a bit of a white blur that might possibly be one of her kids :rotfl:So was rather tempted to say that the extra time is to ensure they don't look like that!

Tru - hope you're feeling better - we do seem a bit of a poorly lot lately :( Well done on the decluttering, I so need to get started on mine - just need some time to do it in now..

Madrabbit - you don't need to be a great singer to join a choir (I know I'm not!), also don't need to be religious (again, am def not :rotfl:) we do a good mix of popular songs - anything from Adele to Bon Jovi to Coldplay to the Bee Gees. Some I like better then others but it's all good fun. House bunny sounds very cute, I used to have bunnies and they were fantastically entertaining - would love a house rabbit but need a bigger house first I think (not sure if the cat would approve either, but then she's turned into such a lazy mare lately she can't even be bothered to get spiders for me so think she would just try and stare it into submission!) If you're worried about being charged wrong at the dentist then if you look on the NHS site it should give you a breakdown on what you should be getting charged - also, and this is something I only found out quite recently, if you're on a low income but not on the 'correct' benefits for free dental care then you can still apply for help with it, there's a form on the NHS site.

Anyway, done very little since yesterday apart from edit, edit, edit - brain is slightly turning to mush now :rotfl:Am getting there slowly, just about got to the night do when I finished at about 12 last night. Have choir tonight though so won't have time to do much by the time I get home after it. Fabbing has been sadly neglected this week I'm afraid :o Did manage to ring my mum - was apparently in the bad books for not speaking to her, she's been on holiday for 3 weeks and only got back on Friday! Looks like they might be coming up for a weekend in July, which will be nice -though need to try and fit them in somewhere :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a good day x
  • I've done it! I've made an appointment at the dentists for next Wednesday morning! I was shaking as i was speaking on the phone! It's only up the next road from me too (very handy, as I don't drive). Thanks for your support LL and PP! I will definitely check the NHS prices on their website to make sure I'm not overcharged, that's good advice. I do brush at least twice a day and use a daily mouthwash but it is an ongoing problem with my gums and I think I really need a dentists advice. I must admit I don't use floss or interdental brushes (I hate the feel of it!) but I'll have to start making myself!

For some reason I think the fear of actually phoning and making the appointment was just as great as going to the dentist itself so I'm glad I've done it now! Phew!
