Not done any exercise for a few days either, its been just too hot.

Exercise bike 1.5kms
Multi-gym - 7 reps
Nails painted.
I need to do some curtain and rug washing tomorrow.
Off to water the garden - the planters and pots are drying out already.
Some great victories.0 -
I admit I am a "winter" girl
today has been a loooooong hard slog. i like sunshine as much as the next girl but I don't really thrive in temperatures like this
Got so much to sort before we go on holiday on Thursday and lacking any energy to complete it!
Went to buy a couple of tops for my hols.....what a disappointment. Mostly autumn wear in Sainsbugs  can we not at least get through July and August first?!
No exercise other than dog walking as is too hot.
Appearing to have a charming breakout on my face in time for holiday too....guess who will be avoiding any holiday pics
Got to repaint nails tomorrow and make sure in toiletries I pack an emery board and my coconut oil. A girl just needs smooth skin and smooth nails :rotfl:
WW exciting to have a break away
pod they are taking the p!ss, you are not being unreasonable. Next time say no and state your reasons why. Best prime OH for this as no doubt he will be the messenger again.....
Loving the little victories :T
Sorry brain gone to mush, have earache thanks to pesky cold so will retreat early to bed methinks....I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Another glorious day here and at least two more promised:D. I'm definitely a summer person bitsy. It's great for my hair, my skin and most of all my mood.:j(that's me jumping for joy).
Had a lovely day out with DH today so while no reading or proper exercise done it was good for me all the same. Went for lunch and to a NT property so it was ambling around the gardens rather than walking. DH was a star because while we were sitting in the shade in the gardens doing some people watching he was just soo complimentary about me compared with other women walking by. He's a lovely man.;) Why is it that sun often brings out the worst when it comes to fabbing? I'm not sure which is worse, people wearing what I'd call 'beach' clothes when they're not at the beach or digging out the elasticated, sludge coloured trousers with matching comfy sandals (probably M&S).
:T:T:T on booking for Ibiza ww. I'm sure you'll have really great time.
Well done on the washing sparkles. I did mattress covers on Sunday and tomorrow I think I'll handwash some scarves, gloves, pashminas.
pod, like everyone else I DON'T think you're being unreasonable at all. As you're doing wedding work now I think it's a great idea to say you'll be using your camera when you're asked next. That way it saves your OH some embarassment in front of his 'friends'.0 -
Morning all!
Its warm and muggy but not sunny here yet - let's hope it breaks through later.
Going on an organised walk this evening - only 5 miles this time, good job in this heat. But its a long day to fill until then and I'm on an ecomomy drive until the holiday so will have to potter round and try not to spend money;)
Good idea about doing all of the washing whilst the weather is good - I did my bedding and towels yesterday and will do the spare room bed and bath mats etc today.
So, today will be a combination of dogwalking, Couch to 5K run, housework and a bit of schoolwork (only an hour or two).
My little victories for today....- Just did a sneaky mid week weigh in (proper day is Friday) and it looks like I've lost a little bit again
- Managed to do a defuzz, facemask, cut and paint my toenails and file my nails last night (now look vaguely presentable:p)
ETA - forgot to ask Bitsy, where are you going on hols?0 -
Morning All,
Another gorgeous day here, my victories is cycling to work this morning, first time in a few weeksand I'm airing my new linen trousers! give the car a rest and it needs petrol but still 6 days till payday so stretching out the pennies
Have a lovely day EH xx0 -
Good morning all
Very sultry and humid here - quite unpleasant. I have just been picking blackcurrants and I had perspiration pouring down my back. I hate it when it's like this.
A storm later perhaps....
My ankle really hurts today and was badly swollen last night so will just have to try and keep the weight off it today as much as possible.
Although having said that I really want to nip out and buy some new light fittings for the kitchen for when they we start it's mini makeover on Friday. Also need paint etc but that can wait until the carpentry work is done first.
I'm also thinking of nipping out to the local auction house this evening for a mooch.
Maman - how lovely that your DH takes such pride and delight in the new you.
I agree with your comments about some of the "hot weather sights" you see.;) I think that compared with European countries we Brits tend to fall to pieces when it comes to hot weather dressing. Hardly surprising - we don't get enough practice.
I do agree about beach wear being appropriate only for the beach though. I really hate to see it worn in restaurants, shopping centres etc and yes NT properties too - a little decorum if you please.
Have to admit I can be a bit guilty on the comfy shoes scenario though - especially at the moment with my ankle all strapped up.
Have a good day everyone.
Time for a coffee and a bit of Homes Under Hammer whilst I elevate my ankle before hitting the shops.0 -
After doing the Couch to 5K run this morning I've made a decision. I'm entering a 5K "race" on Sunday 2nd Sept to give myself something to aim for.
I'm on week 4 of 9 now and am now doing the runs closer together so it isn't strictly taking a week to move up a stage (there's 3 runs in each week's level).
I'm not going to tell anyone (except you!) as some of my friends are real runners and I don't want them to want to join me - I just want to do this by myself to prove to myself I can do it before letting the world know. That may sound daft but I'm very competitive and would be gutted if they did it too and just streaked past me without even breaking into a sweat!
Sssshhh! Don't tell anyone:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

:shhh: promise, won't say a word to a soul :silenced: You'll have to pack your shoes for Ibiza and go for a pre-breakfast run. That's not as unusual as you might think. I've noticed lots of people doing it in hotels I've stayed in. Great news on the potential weightloss this week. Are you still following SW?
Everhopeful, agree it's good that exercise can be mse as well.
On the Brits being bad at summer dressing: I have to add that IMO men can be even worse than women! I know there's a traditional comic image of knotted hankies and socks with sandals from seaside potcards but modern man comes a very close second. I hate to see football shorts, vests (or worse still bare chests), massive trainers, underpants on show etc etc. I'm sure you've all seen them, probably in the aisles at Sainsbury's!:rotfl:
I've done some fabbing today: shower, hair, defuzzing. I've also hand washed a load of scarves, pashminas and gloves. My next plan is to clear out my bathroom cupboard as I've lost one of the toe divider things for nail painting. I know I could use tissue or something but it's a good excuse to declutter the cupboard. I might leave that for later and sit in the garden and read now.
