Frump to Fab - Sizzling Summer Solstice to Awesome Autumn Equinox

Here is the next stage of the Frump to fab. We decided to run it from Solstice to Equinox allowing short term goals over the 3 month period.
So feel free to join in this thread (it's by no means "my" thread) and it's not all about weightloss either. It's about taking care of yourself, looking your best, making the most of what you have and ultimately feeling happy with who you are.
Feel free to chip in with any tips, advice or ideas - everything is welcome here. If you lurk I hope you'll dip a toe in the sea of posting and join in once in a while
Bottom line is changing your habits and replacing them with new ones is a marathon not a sprint. Take as many baby steps as you need, after all you didn't become a frump overnight. However the important thing is to actually TAKE THAT STEP. Do that and you can take another and another and another.......
So first step is to wear perfume. Every day. Doesn't take long to do, seconds to squirt it on. It's not going to slow you down or get in the way of your busy day but its a reminder that you're worth taking care of. If you don't like perfume thats OK, perhaps find a shower gel or scented soap you can use in the shower or bath. Or if you can't use those sorts of items maybe make an effort to wear a favourite piece of jewellery, whatever works for you

Since I can witter on for England I thought I'd share my goals written last night. At the end of the last thread Rachelja posted a great link to a Zig Ziglar Youtube about setting goals. Made me realise that whilst I have written down my goals previously I never wrote down the possible obstacles and solutions or work-arounds to those problems. So last night I did just that.
My goals won't set the world on fire but they will set MY world on fire.
1. Eat mindfully every day.
2. Exercise every day - move my body in a way which feels good
3. Meditate once a day, even if its just for 5 minutes
4. Be more creative
5. Improve my self confidence and body image
Not listed in any particular order of importance, they all have equal standing. I've given a time scale for achieving these goals and it's 31st December 2012. Wow that feels scary writing it down for all to see. Means I am actually going to have to do what I say :rotfl:
I shan't bore you with the potential obstacles and solutions but rest assured I have a plan (albeit a loose one) written down. Bottom line is it's going to take effort from me to keep this going. I've spent far too long on the other threads not getting anywhere and it's only because of my own inaction.
As Zig Zigar says "What's in it for me?" well happiness, improved self worth, a healthy body that takes care of me if I take care of it, achieving a state of zen like calm........enjoying every single moment of every day
I've got 6 months in which to kick @ss in 2012 and I am definately going to do it
Now it's over to you guys

Brilliant inspirational first post there Bitsy x
LL - I hope you're lurking somewhere having a little nosy read and I hope you climb back on the fab train at some stage too x
I'm in :j
My goals from now until Autumn Equinox are:- Trim waist and stomach down - aim for another inch to go for good.
- Aim to trim bingo wing section down by toning it up
- Keep an eye on weight and aim to lose a few more kg and not put any back on. STS some weeks is also fine
- Achieve this by sticking to stepper routine with hand weights, start one more fitness DVD, continue running, walking and cycling
- Get rid of all clothes that are now too big
- Wear what I have in the wardrobe and enjoy the new clothes
- Continue with the food diary which has worked so well for me
- Continue regular skincare routine of cleansing, moisturising, weekly exfoliate and facemask and build in a little more glow over the summer
along with keeping hair well styled and treated and trimmed
- Enjoy and wear and use the make up and jewellry I own
- Keep active every day as I do now
Alot are regular routine for me and I want to keep that going along with some new ones.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi Ladies,
I'm in again.
Bitsy - thank you for taking the reins and keeping us all going.
LL - I'm not sure if you're lurking but thank you for starting this and I hope you will pop in occasionally to let us know how you're getting on.
My ultimate goal is to be fab for my 30th birthday in January. I made some good steps in the last 6 months but know I can do better.
So my goals for the next 3 months:
1. Do more exercise - start couch to 5k
2. Eat more fruit and veg
3. Eat breakfast!
4. Continue with moisturising regime
5. Sort out clothes and bin the baggy trousers!
I know that I need to enjoy the clothes, make up and jewellery that I have so I need to start with a wardrobe audit.
I would also like to post more here so feel free to throw things at me if I'm not joining in enough!0 -
Thanks Bitsy for starting the new thread for us all :j:j Nice first post, I need to think about my goals properly and will update later.

A massive thank you to Bitsy for getting us started:T:T:T
Great first post too - much better than I could have managed.
My goals for the next 3 months (considering I do have a 7 week school holiday bang slap in the middle of it).....- Lose 10-14 lbs by eating healthily and exercising NO FAD DIETS! - that would put me in a nice healthy BMI and make me feel much better about myself
- Continue to do at least 4 or 5 sessions of exercise a week (in addition to dog walking)
- Go on holiday - may not sound very adventurous but it will mean going with a group of people I don't know
- Keep going to the Spice and ladies groups when there are events I fancy - I've already made one good friend through this and done things that I would never have done before
- Continue with all of the routine fabbing that is now quite regular for me - face scrub, body scrub, make up, haircuts and colours, nails and defuzzing, mositurising (need to start body moisturising too)
- Sort out the garden - bit of horticultural fabbing, not easy with raging hayfever:o
- Wear the clothes I have and only buy things that I real really like and in colours that do something for me
Just popped to Mr T for a few bits and pieces after reading a lot of websites last night about healthy eating and teh number of cals you need to maintain or lose weight. Got lots of things that will hopefully stop me snacking on bad things - rice cakes (actually quite nice and only 30 cals), dried fruit and nuts, low cal jelly etc. Spent a fortune but it should do me a couple of weeks - will have a look in Aldi too for cheaper similar items.
Exercise tonight will be a 45 min walk round the water park with the dog (already done) and the Shred and I'll have a nice bath and watch of the soaps and Silk for some mental relaxation - will also listen to the Paul McKenna thing in bed again - it may help subliminally.
Here's to a FAB next 3 months - imagine how much better we'll all be than last summer even if it is only in small ways.:beer:0 -
Oh dear, stress eating. Hubby rang to say he's in line for redundancy so am afraid mindful eating have gone out of the window as I lurch from panic (I am a SAHM so reliant on H's wages) to positive thinking.

Oh no! Is it definite? Try not to panic (easier said than done I know). You are strong and you can handle this - think of all of the good advice you've given to others over recent times and try to be positive. And be kind to yourself - one little cake or glass of wine won't ruin everything.0 -
Well, I've been thinking about my goals and I'm going to borrow one straight from WW - Wear the clothes I have and only buy things that I real really like and in colours that do something for me.
I don't have a massive wardrobe as you know, very much the basics as a result of a mean ex OH. So I would like to get some nicer clothes, and hopefully a size smaller. So my second goal will be - work on getting down to a size 12! I am a large 14 shall we say, probably nearer a 16 if I was honest. But, if I can lose another 7 lbs by Sept and a further 7lbs by Xmas that will do nicely. I am very much into slow weight loss.....I put on a stone last year with fad diets
OOh and rice cakes, have you tried snack-a-jacks WW, I just love the chilli ones and a bag is enough to get rid of a craving. They were on offer in Asda I think, must stock up!
I digress, the rest of the goals will be to keep on fabbing myself and the house. I will have the kitchen finished by September :rotfl:
BitsyBeans - sorry to hear about your OHtry not too worry till you get some definite news (easy for me to say) and as WW said a glass of wine or medicinal treat won't hurt.

Thanks for starting us off Bitsy, hope there is a positive outcome for your husband.
I have been lurking again recently, but will try and join in a bit more this time around.
My plan for the next 3 months is to get fitter (I need to lose weight, but I don't want weight to be the main focus, so will concentrate on exercising for health and well being) and be kinder to myself.0
