Morning all - goodness on page 2 already! Great to see a few new people and some others coming back (Callisto and Tru, we missed you :D)

Loving the shiny new thread, thank for starting us off Bitsy, lovely first post and some great goals :) Shall have to have a look at the Youtube vid but my sound on the computer is having a bit of a wobble at the moment. Hope OH's job situation works itself out x

Lizzie - think the mindset comments are really interesting, I know I can be guilty of this as well. I get distracted rather easily and will often end up putting my own things if someone else asks me for something.

LL - sounds like a good week, think the 'focus on you' is a great mantra. Glad your mum seems to be doing a bit better but sorry it's not looking good for OH coming home.

Some great goals from people, might expand on these later but I think mine will be:
    1. Lose weight/inches - need to look at eating healthier and definately more exercise!
    2. More mindful with what I'm wearing. I know I am better then I used to be and have got rid of a lot of old/tatty/ill-fitting clothes but will still often grab whatever's closest in the morning when should, for example, get organised the night before then can put a bit of thought into it. Plus more time for make-up and accessories.
    3. Try and build up the creative things, mainly the writing and the photography, to the stage where I can hopefully be making a bit of money from them. Am getting there slowly with the photography but still a lot work putting into it.
    4. Declutter/clear out the house. This is going to be a slow process as I have a ridiculous amount of junk but I keep putting it off because it's such a big job rather then trying to do a little bit at a time. Need to sort through the wardrobes, clear out boxes in the spare room from when we moved in and sort through piles of paperwork for a start!

Will probably add some more later but think those are the main ones to be getting on with :) Have my first wedding tomorrow so am feeling really nervous and slightly panicked - really hope it doesn't muck up! Also have no idea what to wear - any ideas welcome :)

    Morning everyone.
Feeling better today about things :) I actually feel quite manic with mind on overdrive :rotfl: in my head I am making lots of plans, we are in discussions about a possible new direction in our lives but at the moment everything is totally up in the air
Anyway besides the perfume I did do a few minutes meditation and focus in breathing which was one of my goals so pleased I've made the effort with that.
I am really pleased to see so many of you posting your goals. I confess I need t write a more detailed plan, I suspect if it's a bit woolly and lacking on details then I am less likely to stick to it.
Thank you all for your kind comments, I did feel I had some very classy shoes to fill (thank you LL, I am glad you're still lurking) and am glad you all feel I've got us off to a good start.

So my plan today is to fit in some yoga, back is stiff and sore and needs loosening up. A face mask is on the cards for this evening too.

    Have a good day everyone.

LL sorry to hear about your H and his deterioration :( glad your mum and dad are doing OK xxx

Podperson I would wear something smart but practical, flat shoes so you're not sinking into grass etc maybe something wedding-y looking, maybe a trouser suit or a nice skirt and jacket? Definately no jeans and a hoodie ;) good luck for tomorrow, have fun x

Thanks Bitsy. I'm thinking will have to be pants as I might need to be crouching down etc to get different angles and definately flats as will be about a 10 hour day and am thinking I'll be stood up for most of it - I'm actually wondering if I can get away with some plain black trainers but that might be pushing it :) I'm not sure what to wear top-wise though, thinking might be best with a blouse to look smart but all my work ones are dark colours, black, navy etc. so with black pants and shoes as well not very wedding-looking? May need to pop to Asda on the way home and pick something up but will be money I don't really have spare this week :(

Ah but with the right accessories dark colour could look very chic. One of my witnesses wore a black dress so I am not anti dark colours for weddings personally. If you can find some bold costume jewellery or maybe a nice scarf (this is soooo not my area of expertise :rotfl:) you can make yourself look swish :)

  • Hi, I have just found this page, hope it's ok if I join you? Hopefully this with give me the inspiration to stick to my goals! I tend to start up something like this but then lose motivation and give up but then I usually keep my goals to myself (fear of looking like a failure) so maybe if I announce them on here it might give me the push I need. There are quite a few things I'd like to change about my life but if I just start with the top 5 so I don't get too overwhelmed!

    1. Lose weight-so I can fit into all the clothes that I love that I can't bring myself to part with. (I lost 4lbs at the start of the year but then gave up, at least I haven't put it back on I guess!). I think it would also really help my confidence.

    2. Be more healthy- exercise every day and eat more fruit and veg, drink more water, take my vitamins- so I feel more energetic and well.

    3. Be more organised, keep on top of cleaning, chores & things that need doing, create some order in my life so things go more smoothly and I'm not late all the time and feel that things are getting on top of me.

    4. Do things that make me feel good about myself and improve my confidence - wear nice things, do my hair and make-up, don't leave the house feeling a mess (so I feel I want to hide away from the world all day), celebrate the good things about me, do things for me (like read an inspiring book, have time with nature, walk by the sea, relax).

    5. Have more fun! I think I tend to take life to seriously at times and fun is definitely lacking in my life. I don't have a lot of money to spend on going out etc...so I'm going to have to be more creative in finding ways to have fun on the cheap.

So there you go, my current top 5 goals! Wish me luck! I'm off to find my exercise bike! :j

Good luck to every one who is trying hard to improve their lives for the better! :T

OOh and rice cakes, have you tried snack-a-jacks WW, I just love the chilli ones and a bag is enough to get rid of a craving. They were on offer in Asda I think, must stock up!

It was the tesco chilli ones I bought (and the S&V ones but haven't tried them yet) but the big ones rather than the packets. Not bad for the cals.

    So... these are my goals.

    1. To stub out my last cigarette on Thursday evening (tomorrow). Just writing this makes me feel deprived already, but I shall keep thinking of the 'Darth Vader Does Dorset' video whenever I weaken :) .

The rules are simply 'No snacks, sweets or seconds, except (sometimes) on Saturdays, Sundays and Special Occasions'. I expect it demands a bit of self-honesty, but it does seem flexible and like something most people could keep up for a while. Wait... I'll Google it...

    http://www.nosdiet.com/

The Darth Vader thing made me laugh - good luck with the fags. Thanks for the NoS Diet link - will have a nosey in a bit.
Great to see loads of people posting - old and new and love reading all of your goals - best wishes to all!

Today I am pooped! Woke up at 3am with hayfever and couldn't go back to sleep, just dozing on and off. Had a really busy day too so no rest for the wicked.:o
Food has been ok today so far - and will force myself to do some exercise as well as the usual dog walking later. 3 new DVDs have arrived - all called 10 Minute Solutions - Blast off body fat, Blast off belly fat and Ultimate boot camp.
Will do the Shred (determined to finish the 30 days) and maybe mix a bit of this in too, perhaps not today though as I'm so tired I'll struggle to do the Shred anyway.

I'm also planning a nice hot bath and a relax later - last day at work tomorrow thankfully!

    :j:j:j new thread! whoop whoop!!!

I can't believe it's time for the new thread already, I haven't thought much about goals lately. I'm with family atm helping to clear my Nan's house and catching up with old friends (i have missed a lot including a "surprise" birth where she didn't know until 6 months and my friend losing her sister, i feel like such a cow) but have tonsilitis.

I suggest anyone who wants to exercise more invest in Tae-Bo and Gillian Michaels box sets from amazon. I got the two for about £25 and they are brilliant :D Each has four DVDs with a few workouts on each DVD and two of Gillian's are split into six minute circuits so you can choose how many and which circuits you want to do.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
  • Ok...so today, working towards my goal of losing weight and of being healthy, I have done 20mins on the exercise bike, had 2 big glasses of water (I don't usually have more than 1 small, I mainly drink tea!), took my vitamin pill, had fruit (banana and dried mixed berries). I haven't had dinner yet (my partner doesn't get home from work until 7ish so we don't usually eat until between 7.30-8) so I'm going to try to have lots of healthy veg with my meal. I'm afraid I haven't been completely good with my eating, had a bit too much fatty foods today (cheese is my downfall!) but tomorrow is another day!

I haven't really thought much about my other goals but I'm going to come up with some ideas tonight (I hope!).

Tomorrow I plan to: do another 20min exercise, add another glass of water, continue with the fruit & veg and try to cut down on fatty food and junk. Also try to make a start on at least one of my other goals!

I always wear perfume every day, I think it can really make a big difference to how you feel about yourself, I prefer perfumes made up from essential oils and am wearing an uplifting citrus blend at the moment.

I have really enjoyed reading all of your goals and continue to read with interest to see how you are all getting on. Good luck every one! :)

    Hi all

Thanks Bitsy for starting the thread.

Heres my goals for the next 3 months

    1. To continue getting myself fit, on level 2 of the 30 day shred and can defo feel and see the changes.

    2. Eat healthly - I'm not on a diet I'm on a healthly eating plan. In the hope that some of this blubber will come off.

    3. Make time for myself

    4. Not be so hard on myself.

For those who were on the old thread and knew about my dads heart problems, I have had a chat with the doctor. I had my chloestoral checked a few years ago and that was fine, she said if it had gone up it would'nt have gone up dangerously high. My blood pressure is extremely low, which would explain the dizzy spells I've been having. So add that to the fact I dont smoke I'm not in a bad place. Just could do with losing some weight to give myself the best chance of not having dad's problem.

Having a night off from the shred I've done level 2 3 nights in a row and although I don't ache my body does feel tired.

    take care xxx

  • Podperson - good luck for today. Let us know how it goes.

I have started eating more fruit and veg but haven't made any progress on the exercise front.
