Natwest Technical Issues

Dayloon, don't panic yet. If it was there yesterday then it probably still is. If its not showing on your account on internet banking now, then it's possibly not possible for the call centre staff to see it. Wait until tomorrow or Monday if you can - the solicitors should be able to help?0

Please help before i cry.
Yesterday my house sale completed. My solicitor sent over £16,000 into my account by instant bank transfer. The money was there and i could see it all day yesterday and all day today....until 2 hours ago when every penny disappeared.
I called natwest who said they have no trace of it going in.
I've read about the technical issues and i was under the impression that once the money was in the account then it was safe. It was there and now it's not. Where has it gone
I'm literally shaking with anger.
Dont worry it will come back.:)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

The problem I have is that I had a DD go out yesterday for a Credit Card payment but MBNA say they haven't recieved it and although technically the card isn't due to be paid until Sunday, MBNA do not process payments after 5pm Friday until Monday by which time it will be late with the hassle that goes with that including losing a life of balance interest rate. I will be interested to see how natwest will sort that out for me.
Two interesting things there. You would have to work out total interesr charges for.natwest to pay and what would happen if you got a late payment narker on your credit. As mbna not at fault. Maybe you could sue natwest.....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

There is a process being put in place for eventualities such as that.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Apologies if this has already been answered but has the NatWest actually said what is causing this problem? The website gives lots of answers to questions but doesn't actually explain the reason behind the problem. A "technical problem" isn't a satisfactory answer by them.
A similar problem occurred last November, albeit on a slightly smaller scale as it lasted just under 20 hours and there was no explanation back then about what caused the problem. A lesser problem also happened back in February which lasted 6 hours and a further two that lasted just two hours since then.
Is there anyone with a computer tech background who could guess at what is causing these problems with NatWest?
My wages are due to go into the bank tomorrow (well, technically Monday but NatWest accounts normally update on a Saturday morning at about 2.15am) and I'm wondering what will await me tomorrow morning...0 -

Possible explanation however im not able to confirm or deny whether there is any truth in it:

It's said to be a planned update which did not go as planned!
Similar to what we get on our home PC's occasionally when we apply a windows update and it fouls things up.0 -
cheers stclair. That is a similar reason to that which was speculated at back in last November here at MSE. Looks like the same problem has reared its head.
Thanks!0
