I forgot to say earlier I dont understand the comment about being allowed £300 , giving it out to customers and not really knowing if they have the money - I was catagorically told that they were only instructed to give £40 as an emergency fund and as it appeared I was overdrawn it would have left me with only £10 which the gentlemen on the phone felt was not a lot of help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but due to the error it was not my fault I was overdrawn (iykwim!)
Yet again Natwest have not been singing from the same hymn sheet - whilst I appreciate the staff "may" not have known what was happening its no good making it up as you go along and a directive should have been given out - just from looking on here today and from what I was told it was all different with many people being treated differently
Have I gone completely but why did the news tonight say that it still is not resolved? ..... just me or are people concerned about this?Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

I am, I'm just going to have to check early in the morning. My car tax is due soon so I hope it's sorted or I will get a fine through. I'm going to watch the news at 10 see if there's any update on it0 -
Just to let people know that I've just checked my online banking and my salary is now there, and I was able to do several movements between accounts, as well as schedule payments.Being brave is going after your dreams head on0

And are you seriously suggesting people on low incomes or with little spare cash should get a credit card of any sort? Credit cards aren't a solution, they just land people in more debt. Also there are plenty of people who live payday to payday and if that payday is out by a day they are unable to find 2-3 quid. Bit arrogant of you to assume everyone can and a little bit patronizing in your whole attitude.
Patronizing? You are the one saying they are incompetant and aren't able to have a credit card for emergencies without going into debt... The person I quoted specifically said because of this one issue they cannot give their children food today - i.e. they have money, just can't get to it. How on earth is having an emergency credit card for times like this remotely "not a solution"? You want them to starve?
And if a family with children lived with completely empty food cupboards and weren't capable of raising £3 then quite frankly, the parents are neglectful. With our current welfare system as it is, there is no excuse for handling your finances like that.0 -
URGENT
Before I stop for the night as I explained earlier Customer Care phoned me and told me my money was there and to use it tonight - my husband went and drew a little tonight on his way home - at the time of the call this afternoon from Customer care as I posted on here my money was in and fully showing as available and on my statement - guess what
ITS GONE AGAIN AND WE HAVE NOW USED MONEY WE TECHNICALLY DONT HAVE !!! ITS SHOWING WE HAVE TOOK SOME BUT MY PAYMENT IN HAS GONE
and to top it all the shopping I did not receive today was re-booked for tomorrow ..............
I give up - and some people wonder why we get so angry! I urge people to check their on-line - unless Ive totally missed the point here - I was told it was ok and had access to itDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

It's already been explained that every penny of charges and interest you receive will be refunded, and you've just said you have cash from your account. Where's the urgency?0 -

So glad I'm not the only one with this opinion!
It is a complete nightmare I admit, but the money is there - just not showing! So people won't be charged etc...
I have over 900 business customers, not one of them has called me today to complain about what's happened....0
