It's nice to know you have enough money for that!!! Every penny I get paid goes on bills and food!0 -

Like I expected to blow over £200 overnight!
Don't be so judgy. Everyone's situation is different.0 -
Same here, today was bad enough! It's the cashiers I feel sorry for, being told they're now open til 7 and everything they have done manually still needs to be keyed onto the system when it's up and running!
It will be intresting to see how many people have withdrawn funds who do not have the funds to withdraw because they thought they was getting a payment in but actually wasn't etc.
I think I'll ring in sick tomorrow lolIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Is NatWest letting down its front line staff?
I remember the last time there were IT problems at NatWest...
(thankfully I don't bank with RBS!)0 -

It a complete minefield letting people withdraw up to 300 without a balance - how many would have taken advantage?
Most of my customers and my colleagues haven't noticed a difference, and have no idea what's happened! But I've been helping the branch out, they have so many c&qs it's shocking!0 -
Be glad you don't work in the complaints department. I suspect they are going to have a busy few days
My thoughts goes out to them I can tell ya.. They'll all be off with with work related stress by next week. LolIm an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

It's times like this where the usual advice of not relying on one bank to look after every penny of your finances should be re-emphasised! Even if it's just a credit card from Vanquis etc. (lenders who will give out low-limit credit cards to just about anyone) in the drawer for emergencies. (I don't mean to be rubbing it in with an "I told you so"! Just advice for the future).
While I sympathise with the annoyance - are you seriously suggesting that your cupboards, fridge and freezer are all completely empty, and you're unable to gather £2/3 between you in change from everyone in the house?
I didn't actually say myself personally but yes in my experience and doing the job i do, people do rely on money to be in their account on a certain day to be able to purchase food etc, not everyone has the luxury of living with people they can gather money from in their house, i am a single mother with two small children and my wages didn't go into the bank as they should today. I don't think it's fair of you to assume that everyone is able to do what you can. So yes i am seriously suggesting that for many families today the case would have been that they had no food in the house to feed their children, you only have to read the posts on here for that to be confirmed.0 -
Why did this even happen Natwest people? Is it to do with divestment again? I've been on annual leave so haven't been into work recently.I work for Natwest.0

I rang up the Ulster bank & asked about this as I am due my ESA on Monday (usually get it on Saturday) & was told if I go into the branch with photo ID & also proof I get ESA paid regularly,I can have my money..One slight problem there tho!
1-I have no proof, as the DSS dont send out statements, apart from a recent repayment adjustment letter.
2-I don't have any up-to-date bank statements as I switched to paperless billing & I cannot access them due to the current problems...
So it looks like I'm stuffed!0 -
