ah, didn't see that. Thanks.
But mine was banked last Friday so 29th... expected it to show up Monday or today.
Ah, so would I
I banked cheques over the counter Thursday (into a business a/c) and the credit showed next day as usual, though total not added to available balance till this week.
But then I did on the previous Thursday too and that was also fine, but the next day to Tuesday there were apparently these other problems... maybe it's still being blippy. Hope you see it soon.~cottager0 -
Up to 5 days is the norm these days. It used to be up to 3 days but apparently with less cheques being used they don't process them as frequently.
Really? It's always been within three days with me even with the last cheque I paid in very recently, hadn't realised they'd changed it.0 -
Just been on the phone to the Natwest; A business cheque paid into my business account last Thursday has balance showing but not available, (both accounts with the Natwest).
Been told that there's a problem clearing with a small number of cheques. I was promised a call within 24 hours, but no date for when I can expect the money.
No problems so far with debits... odd that.0 -

It's up to 5 days for a cleared cheque. The cheque usually appears as uncleared first (the transaction shows up but it does count towards your available balance) and then becomes cleared.
The advice is to allow 5 days before spending a cheque that you've paid in before spending it unless you've checked that it has cleared first.
If you are paying by cheque the money can come out of your account 1-2 days before it appears in the recipient's account.0 -

My Dad used the "live chat" today on the ulster bank site and spoke to an agent to see if he could get any update as he is missing several payments from last week . He was told that they are starting at the END of the backlog of payments and working BACKWARDS which would mean that payments missed yesterday would hit peoples accounts before someone who is missing a payment from say the 1st day this whole thing began...cant see the sense in that myself! It would however appear to be true as a friend whos tax credits were due on Monday just passed received them into her account today yet Im still waiting on last weeks!
Was anyone else due a benefit payment today which went in as planned?
I would say they are talking rubbish
we are due payments as folows
22nd june
27th june paid yesterday
28th june
29th june
3rd june
So still 4 payments due and the one that arrived yesterday was not the oldest or the newest. My son also got a payment for 27th and is still due for 22nd and 29th. I spoke to someone this morning on phone and was told there are no particular order they are doing the payments in.TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -

I've checked the last few pages and can't see this being mentioned, and it will probably affect a relatively small number of people, but all the same...
I pay my Nat West mortgage from my Nat West current account by standing order (not direct debit). It duly left my account on 25th June and I thought no more about it.
As some may be aware NW recently started showing mortgage accounts on online banking, and it didn't appear. I thought it might all reconcile when the interest was paid (30th) but that's appeared but no payment.
Rang up and apparently the payment has not been received by NW Mortgages. This is a known problem between NWM & NWB and both Mortgage services and NWB call centre staff were relaxed and assured me that no note was being made on my credit file, there were no problems and that it would all reconcile 'eventually'.
Additionally debit interest would be backdated as if it had been paid on time.
I'm uneasy, but what choice do I have but to ride it out?0 -
