Natwest Technical Issues

The cheque is not going to clear. When the cheque presents it will bounce.
I'd recommend getting in touch with the person who was paying the other £9,000 and get them to send it ASAP. Am I right in thinking that you saw two lots of £9k come in with exactly the same details? That makes it seem like the other person didn't actually pay you.
My cheque bounced too and they debited it from my account without making the funds available. Sent the cheque back to me on Sat aswell. Their cheque clearing is a mess. I agree with above poster.
I rang up to ask when my account would be sorted was told Tuesday, now they are saying the end of the week.
I'm going into branch tomorrow to try and get the £700 debit off my account so I can at least try and pay in a new cheque and get some emergency funds.x0 -

All this still going on and yet there was NOTHING about this on Question Time the other night. Zip Zilch Nada.
Anyone would think it was a deliberate media blackout.
I noticed that too... I do love David Dimbleby..

Sometimes I just think it would be eaiser just to say "I dont know" as when you give a timescale it never happens.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
I know they've been vocal enough about refunding any costs that are accrued, but what about actual compensation for stress and inconvenience that his debacle has created?0

I can't understand how the problems Natwest are having have disappeared from the news.
There is still no sign of the money paid into my account on the 25th June and the call centre woman I have just spoken to had to go and find out what the latest update was !
Anyway, she said it should be in by Tuesday.
I have been far from impressed by Natwest's handling of all this. The communication has been terrible.0 -

I made a complaint to Natwest, mainly about their staff and their shocking lack of knowledge of the incident and the fact that some of their staff had terrible manners.
I wasn't looking for money as such, but I had to spend time on the phone and had to go to the branch. I said that I had wasted about two hours, which is a lot on a day off when you have better things to do.
I got £20.0 -

See, a few years ago when I first switched accounts to Ulster Bank, they managed to attach another account's direct debits to my current account. Once the first incorrect DD was taken, I was on to them like a flash and they refunded the DD, removed the erroneous ones from my account and credited me with £100.
Now bearing in mind the enormity of this, based on what I got earlier, the compo should be much bigger, right? But there's no way they're going to hand out [at least] a couple of hundred quid to every affected customer, is there?
Beyond not having an accurate balance, not having my salary in my account (paid Thursday), direct debits not being taken, I don't want to be lifting money from my account for things that I know I should be able to afford, but don't want to risk, so there is a huge amount of inconvenience and a certain amount of stress involved and now with it being the start of the month, we're hitting a time when most of my monthly bills are paid... by direct debit.
Ulster Bank are still having issues and these won't be resolved until tomorrow (correct at time of posting).0 -

The bank are under no obligation to pay any compensation however if you get some see it as a bonus.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Alls staff knew it was a technical issue that's all they needed to know. The bank are not going to detail with staff when it comes to situations like this...Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
