  • I'm with Think Banking whose accounts are held with RBS, and my ESA which was supposed to be paid in on Saturday still hasn't appeared. I'm quite worried now. I'm disabled with moderately severe M.E. and can't go running about to bank branches and Jobcentres to get money in the event I run out. If it's not in by the end of the week I'm in trouble :(

    I must be one of the lucky ones, my wages were 3 days late going in but I could still withdraw use my debit card as normal.

    I don't understand why some people are cancelling their direct debits though, the banks have been saying for days they will refund any late payment, additional charges.

    I will be staying with NatWest, 3 - 5 days of late wages is a massive improvement on Santander taking 8 months to cancel my bank account and sending me overdrawn letters every month!

    Problem is some people panic for no good reason, which doesnt help the situation. Look at Northern Rock a few years back.Ccustomers money was protected yet still people queued for hours at the bank to withdraw a few thousand they had in their accounts

    Check to see if it's been paid,because when I phoned them today to find out how much I was due,I was told it hadn't been paid.

    RBS has still not credited my account with my salary which was paid in in Friday. Like others have already mentioned, it was showing as there on Saturday morning, but had gone again by lunchtime.

    I was fobbed off by the call centre on Sunday who said they were sure it would be fine by Monday. I phoned again tonight (45 minutes to get through to someone) and they have "kindly" agreed to credit my account to the amount of my salary and will debit it again once my salary is showing. Apparently it will take a couple of hours to credit, but if it is in by midnight they will pay any direct debits requested today.

    They have not paid my rent payment which should have gone out as a standing order yesterday; they won't automatically pay it now, I have to ring them up again when they put the credit into my account!!!

    Susan Allen, director of customer services at RBS Group has appeared on BBC News and said that it has cleared the back-log problem. Lies!! All Lies!! :mad:

    Certainly contradicts what the Ulster said at 6pm today;
    We continue to work through the backlog of payments caused as a result of the IT issues experienced in RBS Group. We're making progress on this and are confident that this will help us restore a full service for the start of next week in Ulster Bank.

    Rang Natwest tonight as the last few days have been very concerning I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Balances and wages finally showing after a few frustrating days. Also got a £5.00 credit due to be applied for my account for the cost in phone calls and inconvience. Fair play Natwest, they kept us informed each day.
    Let the sunshine.

    I note that Natwest haven't commented on the chap who had to spend the weekend in jail because he couldn't pay his bail. I wonder how they will compensate him?!

    Do you have any more info on what was in the email? (I've seen your post on the other thread).
