I work in the nhs and due to be paid tomorrow and no one has said anything about not being paid. when did they say you will get paid then? Touch wood, my account seems to be ok at the mo with chikd benefit and taz credits being paid in ans my childminders payment being paid and hitting their account instantly. Suppose ts just a case of wait and see what tomorrow brings!

My wife should be getting paid tomorrow by the NHS - if it doesn't go in on time we'll just have to wait for it I guess.

My Mrs went into the Ulster Bank today to get money, they can see all of the credits and debits due to be applied to our account but yet they have moved the goal posts again, they now say the start of next week. The goal posts shift daily with them.

Most of us have been affected to a greater or lesser degree, but Ulster Bank customers really do seem to have got the raw end of the deal.

The Sunday Times is covering the Natwest technical issues this week – as well as looking at some of the biggest gripes about current accounts.

The journalist would like to talk to some Natwest customers. If you'd like to chat to her, please private message me with your name and telephone number.

They didnt, just said due to the problems it may not go in. Guess its down the the RBS system and whether its working correctly
  • The latest update on El Reg is very enlightening.

It seems the problem was caused because of a failed update to their CA-7 batch scheduling software - already knew this bit. What I didnt know already was that the problem was actually caused (apparently) by the roll back after the failed update which due to user or system error wiped out their entire schedule. Now it seems they could not for some reason restore the schedule and so they had no way of scheduling up the processing of the thousands of files they process each day. Each of which seems has to be processed in a certain sequence. So that kinda explains the very much trial and error/hit and miss people have been seeing with transactions appearing and then disappearing again!

I must be one of the lucky ones, my wages were 3 days late going in but I could still withdraw use my debit card as normal.

I don't understand why some people are cancelling their direct debits though, the banks have been saying for days they will refund any late payment, additional charges.

I will be staying with NatWest, 3 - 5 days of late wages is a massive improvement on Santander taking 8 months to cancel my bank account and sending me overdrawn letters every month!
