I've found Ulsterbank to be next to useless, Phone them up same old crap, "We're sorry" At least some folk in Natwest / RBS are having some joy, No one as far as I can tell in Ulsterbank is getting anywhere, my balance hasn't changed since last Wednesday, I have tax credits, child benefit, wages of both myself and partner all due to go in and nothing has arrived, We both have wages to go in this week as well and that's not looking to hopeful now either.
Girl working in my local branch reckons it'll be next week before it's all up & running again when another customer enquired about her wages due this week..0 -

I have a mere £1.45 in my purse, money that is meant to be in there isn't arriving, they say that it's fixed, and that all internet banking functionality should be working, it's not, and if I have to phone and listen to "oh yes, we're just so sorry, sorry we don't know when it will be there, try again tomorrow" (which is the SAME story I've had now since Wednesday) one more time I'll be at the doors of head office in Belfast tomorrow with a blunt rusty spoon and ask for the boss......
What are people meant to do? Just heard on the news that they reckon that this is still going to be "broken" up as far as Friday.... that's hundreds I'm owed so far, and I'm meant to just sit here and go "oh yeh, great, thanks for saying sorry because they accept that in the supermarket"
Looking for a new bank I really am!
Have you been to a branch with ID and tried to get cash?
Do you have an Ulster Bank Credit Card? You can draw cash on that with no fee or interest, provided you repay the amount in full within one month.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
God help them if they don't have it fixed by the end of the month when most people pay bills on or near the 1st of the month.Signature removed club member No1.
It had no link, It was not to long and I have no idea why.0 -
No question, this is a serious IT incident. Combined with irresponsible outsourcing and offshoring of jobs to the other side of the world.
For a bank, which has hundreds of millions it can spend and invest on technology, it has shown this means diddly squat in reality - unless you have staff who actually know what they are doing.
The result: loss of control; and almost 4 days to revert a change which should have taken a few hours.
RBS is an example of how we DONT do things in corporate IT :rotfl:

This sounds useful for people who don't bank with the RBS Group but are affected downstream. It's quite high-level, but you may be able to use this with your bank if they are not immediately cooperative

“We know this issue impacts other businesses and customers - not just those of RBS Group - and that’s why it’s so helpful that banks and building societies have today all agreed with the Payments Council to help customers who are out of pocket as quickly as possible.”0 -

Don't just change your bank: open a new account at a different bank in addition. That way, next time this happens, you may have a working bank account. Spread the money around too if possible.
P.S. Payment authorised on the 20th still not showing in my RBS account.0 -

I don't have an Ulster Bank Credit Card, and today is the first time that I've heard about being able to go to the branch about getting money.
I have a basic account, I bet they aren't so free and easy about handing out the money in advance of them fixing that one!
I have just opened a new account with a different bank. I can't afford to be without funds for over 2 tax credit payments, I live hand to mouth being a poor student.
I can't get over the fact that in this day and age there are no safe guards, no redundant systems, etc etc, and that the only thing that us UlsterBank using mugs can have is a "I'm so sorry" very very frustrated by this complete farce.0 -

I really don't have enough to spread it about!0 -
