Just to add to this, I bank with RBS and haven't had a single problem. But then, I was not expecting any credits.

    All normal here

We don't receive any credits either, but we're still missing our pay and a standing order which was taken early out of one account and not placed in another, leaving us withdrawn.

They took it out of one of our accounts and haven't put it in the other. It's out there somewhere, but where?!

My payment from Friday now cleared.

Is that just in the last 20 minutes?

Slightly reassuring, in the absence of information from RBS, to know that they are updating throughout the day.
    I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<3

Just back from the bank after taking out £20 over the counter, customer in front of me was told when she enquired about wages going into her account on time this week that it's doubtful that it'll happen this week either.

Bank with First Direct, employer is with NatWest, still NOT got the pay we should have had last Thursday. This is getting very worrying and inconvenient. I feel NatWest are lying to us about everything. When are we going to get our money ??

Our firm banks with Natwest and the wages bacs run that was set up last tuesday to go into the employees banks on thursday has just gone through.

    Maybe yours will soon!

I bank with first direct so same situation as yours

    .1%) (42/100) payments made. Total paid 2019 year £1,700

    Total paid 2017 year £15,300Total paid 2018 year £13,600
  • I can now categorically state I am going to shift banks after the fiasco I've had to endure in a Natwest Branch.

Both my current and first reserve cards have been blocked, the current acc card was blocked after I put my PIN in once and it told me it was incorrect (I'm one of these people that has the same PIN for all my cards ), the first reserve keeps declining despite money in the account.

Went to the branch today and asked why my cards are blocked. Start off with the current account and this is a conversation I had with the cashier, denial is obviously the latest tactic!

'Oh you must have entered your PIN incorrectly three times'
I said I haven't, I put the right PIN in once and then it told me the card was blocked'
'No, you've put the PIN in incorrectly, have you tried unlocking it at the ATM'
'Yes, but it tells me my request can't be carried out'
'Oh, well your card is blocked'
'I realise that but what do I do about it?'
    'Unlock it at the ATM?'
'Tried that, doesn't work, can you manually readvise me of my PIN by post?'
'Our systems aren't allowing that at present'
'OK, so can you make a note and action it when they are up and running?'
'No, we're not allowed to do that, you'll have to come back when everything is fixed'
'Right, OK, can you do a check on my first reserve please?'
'Oh, is there a problem with that one too?'
    'Yes, it keeps declining'
'Have you any money in the account?'
'Yes, you will see if you check my accounts'
'Oh right, yes, I see, oh don't know why it is declining?'
    'No, nor do I'
'Oh.......not sure what I can do for you really'
'Well I need access to my cash please'
    'How much?'
'Full amounts out of each account please'
'Are you going elsewhere to bank the cash, I can do a faster payment for you?'
'No, I'm paying for my car to have it's MOT, which should've been done on Saturday but couldn't because I had no money in any of my accounts and fictional overdrawn balances'
'You had money in your account'
'I know that but your balances on my online banking told me I was overdrawn'
    'but you weren't'
'No, I wasnt but I couldn't access my money and YOU told me twice I wasn't able to withdraw my cash as I didn't meet the score criteria'
    'I didn't'
'You did and your CCTV would verify that'
'Oh, right, I'm not sure what problem you were experiencing, you had access to money over the weekend'
'Well, the same problem as some other 10 million people had'
    'Not that many'
'Well that may or may not be the case but I'd like my cash please'
'We can't, your cards are blocked'
(Before I lost the will to live....)
'That's why I am here....please, I need the money from my accounts, theres my passport and last statement to prove who I am'
'We can't give you the cash I'm afraid'
    'Right, what can you do?'
'Ummm, transfer it to another party and you can get them to give you the money?'
'Fine, transfer it to my Mum please, its on the list of payees'
'Oh yes, there we go, anything else I can help you with?'
    'Closing my account?'
    'Oh really, why?'
'I'm very unhappy with the service provided in the last week'
    'Oh OK'
'Been with Natwest for 20+ years and never experienced such poor service'
'But being a long standing customer doesn't make you any more special, we have many long term customers who are happy with our service'

At this point I was :mad::mad::mad::mad: and said thank you and left.

The lady seemed reluctant to even acknowledge there was a problem at all, which really riled me.

Just logged in to my Natwest account and have to report that everything now seems to be working normally.

Hope others are finding the same. :)

It is a little slow ATM which I expected but it does work properly now.

(I posted the above because some may be holding back from checking in case it fouls things up by rejecting passwords etc)

i know branch will issue cash if you need it but I need money in my account to pay bills by debit card/direct debits ( in case they go out ) rather than cash. anyone know if they will put money into account to use rather than cash ?

Can you not just bank the cash they give you?

Complete nonsense. Government can never run out of cash as it is able to print its own currency.

That is nonsense they can not simply just print more money if they could the country would not be in so much debt!

Hopefully we'll get ours tomorrow then as our BACS payment is sent Wednesday to reach us Friday, thats assuming they are putting them through in the order they were made.

Printing money would not be the answer but the government would not under any circumstances allow a major bank such as RBS to go under, the effects of doing so would be disastrous for the country and result in complete breakdown of the monetary system and hence anarchy. :)
