Hi All
i too have been a victim of this scam,,they have taken nearly £300 off me in 4 weeks. I contacted my credit card company (MBNA)..who have cancelled the card and will issue another one.
MBNA have said up to date dead sea/dermajuvenate haven't used VISA/MASTERCARD updater system. MBNA class these companies as fraudulent and will reimburse my money in full.
#
They also state this SCAM is well known in the UK and they are working with the police to prosecute these scum bags asap.
If it happens to you contact your bank immediately..
ALL BANKS IN THE UK SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS BY NOW.
good luck everybody.
I should have added don't waste your time emailing or phoning them and certainly don't bother posting back to Israel. Return to sender and just bang it back in a post box. These are fraudulent companies..they will not act on your instructions to cancel!.......even if you follow their policy to the letter (that's if you can as they make it almost impossible to contact them).0 -
It is not clear and above board dalesrider. The police are involved and are treating these companies as fraudulent......a 'decent' bank/credit card should do likewise!0

Just because it is a scam (which it is not, as it is very clear what they do) Does not make it a right to get your money back.
I wonder how the police are going to deal with this as even the OFT are happy to let these companies trade so long as they do not miss-advertise.
OFT took deadseakit to task over this and found them quilty. They have since updated their site and OFT seem happy.
So what is that makes these companies fraudulent them?
People willingly give them their card details for the product.

£300 off me in 4 weeks....
How many did you sign upto....
Also MBNA are not telling the truth, as we know they do use the visa account updater to get new card details.
For your info these companies have been going for well over 3 years now starting with acai berry tea and working on from there.
Also advising people NOT to do what the companies ask is a BAD idea....
These companies DO refund, and are easy to get hold of via either phone or email.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I followed the advice of Dalerider and send the package back to Dead Sea in Israel, using the cheapest option available from the PS (£6.45, lady at the PO told me that it could take up to 5 weeks, I replied to her " I don't care if it takes 5 years")
I then emailed all the proof to Dead Sea, surprisingly I received an email a couple of days later that my account has been cancelled, that not further products will be sent. So far they haven't taken any money except the first P&P fee. So right now I am about a tenner poorer but hopefully rid of these bas7ards. I will keep monitoring my account every few days. If any money is taken, I was told by the bank that I will get it back as I have cancelled my contract with them.
My wife has learn a lesson i guess, as they say if something is too good to be true it ain't

Hi dalesrider
i'm not disputing what you are saying at all. I guess i'll have to see what happens. It's interesting you say they use account updater. I will contact MBNA and let them know this.
Jeannot18 which email address did you use to contact deadsea and which address did you send it back to please?0 -
I did email several addresses to cancel the contract..including the facility on their website to cancel autorefill. I may play safe here and post the recent delivery back to them using the cheapest option.0

dalesrider they are not easy to contact in my experience..they don't reply to emails i have sent or phone calls.....the whole situation is a nightmare for me and i guess many others.
MBNA say they will monitor my account closely ( as i am also doing).
Jeanott18 what 'proof' did you email to them and what address please.
They keep sending products on the 'autorefill' even though i have emailed them asking them to stop.0 -

The first email that you have received from them should have the details to logon onto your account (even if you have set it up yourself), it is your email address for the username, + the password provided by them. Once you logged on, untick the automatic deliveries set up on a monthly basis (take screen shots of those pages and save them somewhere safe. I scanned the 2 receipts that the PO gave me, one stipulating the date, weight, and destination (written by hand by the PO agent), and another receipt because I paid by Debit Card). I then email them back to returns@deadseakit.com and support@alluredeadsea.com.
Parcel was send back to Dead Sea Beauty Kit
C/o Paloma Dead Sea, Ltd.
PO Box 5381
Caesarea 30889
Israel
I wrote inside and outside the parcel, my name, address and order number (my email address inside the parcel but not outside, just felt unsure about the whole world to see my email address). Like I said, 2 days later I received an email saying that the account was cancelled, no more product would be sent.
Good luck

Thanks for that. I never recieved an order number with the deadsea kit. Just clear cellophane with my address on.
On their website when i log in there is no facility to untick automatic deliveries......as i set up the account (they didn't provide me with a username and password when they emailed me back....they just stated account for login was set up). I have emailed both emails you used though and asked them to cancel autorefill (giving my address only).0 -

I can't remember what is the period length before you get charged for the products. I did mine within 5 days so hopefully I won't get charge. If you have had your products for longer, I am not sure that you are in a position to return them and get your money back (i am not sure if it 14 days or 90 days - I am not at home so I can't check all my emails). But if you are within that period, I would suggest to do what I did, at least the bank will have step to stand on to get your money back. Definitely try to cancel your automatic refill, are you sure you haven't received an email when you placed the first order? Because I did and all details were there.
They are a nightmare company, they may not be breaking the law, but they surely have a dodgy way to do business. Surely they should have an UK address where parcels could be sent back, obviously the PO Box in Israel may convince people to pay for the first delivery before canceling their account, at £93 or £97 a pop, they are getting rich very quickly.
All the best
