You (and your card issuer) are right.

When you receive a new card and the old card is cancelled, the card issuer will not notify them of the changed details.

    But...

When the 'scammer' tries to charge to the old card, that charge will effectively be passed to the customers account, even if the old account is 'closed' and a new account is setup.

    What law is that then?

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :D

cancel your card make your bank aware they will refuse payment, everytime ive lost or cancelled a card no one has ever been able to debit my card.. also if they try using a different company name to debit your account this will be fraud so dont worry.

My bank tried to get a chargeback from them but they sent all their so-called paper work of T&C which you cannot see when ordering your FREE Trial products. I sent an email saying you can threaten all you like, but I am not the one doing wrong here.

Well so long as you cancelled and returned (or started the return) in the 14 days as per their T/C. Which they have so lovingly provided. Then ask the bank to do a pre-compliance on the basis that the company have failed to refund as per their T/C.

This whole FREE trial is a joke.

Time that trading standards or OFT took these co's to task and said you cannot offer a free trial and then bill for full amount of the product, after 14 days.
Its one of the other... Not both

You do have to wonder just what happens to ALL the returned samples.
Are the ydestroyed as they should? Or do they send them out again.....

well explain how i cancelled my card and informed my bank they have not been able to debit my account nor anyone eles?
  • I wish I had read this before I was silly enough to order these products. I am normally not open to scams but you are not told until you have made the order. I have tried to cancel the order straight away by sending several emails. But I have received another email saying the stuff is on its way. After reading the very small print I must return the products to Israel!!

    Don't fall for this scam

    Nor anyone else's?

That's a bold (excuse the pun) statement you have made.

How can you possibly know that?

because when i pay for my vonage (which only accepts payments by using the long number on my card) they fail, if i have a new card and i have to re-enter even when topping my 02 phone if i have a new card, i can't use last 4 number's on my card i have to re-enter whole card number, expire date and last 3 number's on back of card.

That is because YOU are trying to make a payment on a stopped card....

NOT a retailer TAKING a CPA on a STOPPED card.

You are talking two totally diffrent things.

I work in a Bank and see these payments come through after cards have been stopped.
The retailer simply requests new card details via the Visa/Mastercard systems.
Even closing a account is no guarantee of them taking more payments.

Even the consumer champion WHICH still take payments on stopped cards for months afterwards.
