Hi,
Is there any advice on what to do with the free trial products after you have received them if you do not want to sign up to the offer? Is it a good idea to send them back? What have other people done with them after cancelling the subscription?
My grandmother has just received her 'free trial' after being scammed online and was told by the delivery man that this is a scam and that she needs to send them back and let her bank know about it.
We have rung her bank and they said that no charges have been taken out yet, but any charges taken out will be investigated by them.
We have also checked her online account with Dead Sea kit and have confirmed that she has ticked the box of not wanting to receive anymore products. Does this mean that she won't or will they still send them anyway? The box was never ticked in the first place saying she wanted the auto refills.
What we are worried about is that if she does not sent them back will she get charged more? Or, by sending them back, will face massive shipping and customs charges.
What do we do?please help.
I urge EVERYONE who has fallen for this to send an email to the crooks simply stating
"You are NOT authorised to take any (further) funds from my credit card ending xxxx"
then just use the product.
They took nearly £200 from my credit card but as I had sent emails such as the above, it was a simple matter to have the amounts cancelled on the credit card.
DON'T worry about sending back the product or anything connected with genuine trade. These people are engaged in large scale crime across the globe.
If it makes you feel more comfortable however you could add
"I deny the existence of any contract and for the avoidance of doubt cancel any contract that any may consider existing, under Distance selling Regulations"
and perhaps for the benfit of your credit card co.
"I am greatly concerned that the banking system is still allowing you to have a merchant account and aiding fraudulent activities"0 -
Alex, you need to have permission from MSE to post on behalf of a company at forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com - it's in the forum rules. I've reported your post.0

"This offer is applicable only on condition you do not dispute any charges with your bank. If you are happy to accept the credit , please confirm in writing that you agree with the conditions of the offer."
Anybody have any advice?
1. Write to them stating "I deny the existence of having given you any authority for taking £87-95 from my bank and for the avoidance of doubt, I cancel, under Distance Selling Regulations, any authority that any may consider existing, " (You have 3 months under the regulations to cancel, as they didn't advise consumers on their rights under the regulations)
2. Tell them you require a full refund or will request a chargeback from your bank.
3. Advise that they can collect the product as you are not sending it to Israel having purchased it in the UK (they won't of course, it's just ordinary moisturiser as far as I can tell, you can get quality branded stuff for couple of quid in a discount store)0 -
I too have done something stupid and purchased 2 lots of FREE trials ... Luckily I am still within my trial period and realised my mistake as I am normally very wary when putting my card details onto anything .... I have cancelled my card with the bank who have advised this will be the solution as the original transaction was simply a card payment not a recurring payment ...
I have emailed dead sea to say this is a scam and I want to cancel this and advised theme they are to not attemot to charge my card as it will be declined .
I recieved an email back offering me at a reduced price and if i didnt want it to return to a PO box in istael and to scan the proof of posting to them so they can cancel the trial
My email back to them states that they must give me their UK based address as this is where it came from and i will be hapy to return and then they can send it to israel themselves ..
I also pointed out that all of these returns which have had fingers in the jars .. are they recycled nad sent out to other innocent victims because my jars were recieved in a used box and were not exactly full . How disgusting to think that these were returns no wonder they gave me a bad reaction ...
It also apears that a Uk company to offer a return address in Israel is tantamount to refusal to accept returns which is in breach of DSR .. The company is in breach of UK law basically therefore they have no right to ask for the return . I do however notice many of these creams on ebay going for around £30 ..
I am awaiting a reply and will post again when i get one .. I have informed them that I have contacted watchdog as i feel this comapny needs to be stopped making money off the back of innocent women who think that this is just a trial pot not a full size full price product ....0 -
The problem with this company is that they don't make it clear up front who they are. They advertise (on facebook for example) by saying 'skin care testers wanted' and that link takes you to a site that has no mention of their three products - Dead Sea Kit, Collagenta Active Serum and RX Rejuvenx. Instead they show five pots of other people's products - products we all know and trust like Clinique (I wonder if they know this SCAM company are doing this).
As you go through their 'applicaton process', at the top of the page it says 'Your place has been temporarily reserved. Time remaining: XXX' and the clock ticks down. from 15 minutes.
At the end, as you consider which of these three chosen products are for you, there is ALWAYS a warning that says 'Warning! Currently there are only 13 Deals remaining in United Kingdom! Apply now to be accepted.' Strange ... always 13 deals, over the past six months ....so not that limited :-). I've also entered every combination into their 'application' process and strangely the same three products appear every time - Dead Sea Kit, Collagenta Active Serum and RX Rejuvenx.
So, do you miss out if you don't apply within the 15 minutes? How odd, no you don't. It says 'EXPIRED' but if you click on the final question you have still 'SUCCEEDED' and you can buy their SCAM products Dead Sea Kit, Collagenta Active Serum and RX Rejuvenx..
Hopefull this will help people realise this is A SCAM and those that don't understand how people fall for it may realise just how manipulative this company are. And ... by the way, you don't see the terms and conditions through any of this process.
Hope this helps someone to stay safe on the net and hold on to their cash.0 -
Ps - as I couldn't put a link in to their site as I'm a newbie here is the misleading wording from their site. It clearly mentions products that aren't available (they NEVER come up at the end of the application' and the misleadinganswers to the questions at the end. Again, not a sign of the terms and conditions yet.

Question 1 of 8:
1. Select your gender:MaleFemale
Why is knowing your gender important?
Asking your gender is important because there are structural differences between men and womens skins. After puberty, Androgen stimulation causes men's skin to have a tougher texture and be about 25% thicker than a womans. Many companies design their products specifically for men or women so using the wrong product may not give the best results.

I emailed this company back to ask for their UK address as I stated I wanted to cancel my agreement and will not be prepared to send to Israel .. I told them to provide me with proof that this was shipped to me from Israel and I would be happy to return it ...
I stated they are not authorised to take any further payments from my debit card ending **** and cancel any contract that any may consider under The distance Selling Regulations
The aemail I got back from a person called Rozalina stated as follows....
Please note that you can either return the product back to us and avoid any further charges or accept a generous discount so you can keep the products at a very privileged price
However if you are not willing to proceed with any of the above options we will have no other option except for reporting you to our FRAUD department..
Fraud being in capitals hahahaha A fraudulently misleading company has a fraud department ... I wonder who works there ..
So basicaly I am being threatened because I have questioned them and asked for further information .... They have the cheek to think that they will just go ahead and take my money from my account where I have blocked them via my banks fraud department .. Oh it just gets better and better
This company are a sham and the sooner they are banned from trading in the UK the better ....0 -
I had a similar problem and I was writing to them daily using lots of the information from this site. I did contact my bank (Nationwide) straight away and again when they had taken nearly £200 from my card (I had used my Nationwide Visa Card). I told them I had returned the product to Israel at my own expense (I hadn't). I also told them about the scam, again using information from this site. They were really great and told me not to worry. A week later the dead sea kit and collegenta both paid up after my bank had contacted them.
During all my e-mails to the companies I went into my account on line and changed my name to something rude and my address to 1234 SCAM WAY. (I also ticked the box to say I didn't want auto orders). All there e-mails to me after that were to this rude name so they don't read the e-mails they just reply. I also told them I was a reporter called Hugh from a big national paper ... they stopped contacting me after that.
Good luck - keep going and don't give up as they can't win- right is on your side :rotfl:0 -
Unfortunately I've fallen foul to this scam too
. I contacted my cc co today and they said once the £3.95 has cleared they'll have all the necessary details and will be able to put a block on any further payments. I wait can't believe I was so gullible. I haven't received my products but once I have a guarantee I won't be charged anything more I'm not going to bother returning to Israel! I've had an email back from Dead Sea saying it's too late to cancel as the product's already been despatched. I've emailed them back saying I still don't want it and asked for their guarantee I won't be charged.
Just had an email back explaining their return policy and I've replied back saying I have no intention of buying any beauty cream for nearly £100 and intend returning immediately. I've asked for a UK return address seeing as it's despatched from the UK.
Should I return, or just contact my cc co once the postage has cleared and put a block on any future payments?0 -
I've been emailing them for the last week and it's hopeless gets you nowhere. Whoever I reply to I then get another reply from a different person just saying the same.
They still insist i've had the deadsea set over 30days so aren't entitled to a refund of my £87.95 but the original £30 discount has now been upped to £45 as long as I basically keep quiet.
They also tell me my trial time of 30days is up on the collenganta
on 28 feb. Odd that as they both arrived in the same parcel!!
They are totally ignoring anything else said to them and the fact I'm dissatisfied because I had a skin reaction to there 'beauty' creams.
Don't know how this company are still trading. Surely there are enough people been taken in by them to warrant Trading Standards etc to investigate them!!0
