Right I read through the thread and want the card, however I wanted to wait to get my barclaycard balance transfer card requested and approved.
Good credit file, reduced lots of credit imit etc.
Got my barclaycard approved 16k credit limit today
Got my aqua card approved 1600 limit.
10% of the barclaycard limit ....0 -
Seem like a bit of a dodgy outfit to me.
The £100 cap on cashback is the major drawback, can earn more in a year on other cards. Don't expect the 3% to last longer than 12 months or when they've signed up enough punters.
No marketing opt out in the application either. The link to the privacy statement they want you to sign up to is dead (if it exists presumably its says they'll flog your data on to whoever pays them).
Application terminated.0 -

That logic does not make any sense unless the other cards offer the same or higher percentage cashback.
Buying on this card until you reach the £100 limit, and then switching to another card, will still get you more cashback than spending the whole amount on the other card.Application terminated.
Well I've just signed up
Been approved with a £500 limit. I was expecting the maximum limit since I have an excellent credit score. Oh well. It's good enough for general spending, petrol, groceries etc. Any large transactions can go on my 1% Barclaycard.0 -

The products are different and targetted at different markets.
It means nothing about your credit score. The £100 cap on cashback is the major drawback, can earn more in a year on other cards.
Can you? Most of us probably can't.
Most of us would be better off spending up to the £100 limit then going to a different card.Don't expect the 3% to last longer than 12 months or when they've signed up enough punters.
I'll take it for a year.Application terminated.
It's a free country.
I think it's a good deal and most people cannot get better.0 -
Got a text today saying my card has been despatched !0

Through the online banking, can you set up a DD there? (If you choose not to over the phone when you activate the card.)
I think you'd best do that on the phone when activating. I prefer to do that online (to avoid errors and time on the phone) so didn't do it during the call, which now means I'm going to have to phone them again.
The online service has a "change bank details" option, but if that is in any way linked to Direct Debits it looks like it may only be to change the bank details on one that you already have set up, as the page also has text which says "If you would like to change the amount of your direct debit please call 0845 601 0436".0 -
Hi
I have just applied for an Aqua card after being turn down for the Halifax clarity card.
I have no bad marks against my name but was turned down on the credit score thingy I think.
Was not going to bother with another credit card (I dont have any at the mo as HSBC, my bank cancelled the one I had with them due to lack of use).
So I applied for the Aqua card but got the you will hear from us in 10 days reply, I thought you got an answer there and then.
Does this mean I will more than likely be turned down?
Cheers for now!

Hi Ade
I got the same thing last week telling me I would hear within ten days. On Saturday I recieved a credit agreement for signature and request for ID, which I posted off yesterday.
Not sure if this means I've been given a card but I havent been declined in writing yet.
thanks0 -

No it doesn't.
It simply for some reason they weren't able to process your application automatically.
Sometimes this is because there isn't enough electronic information available to verify you on-line.
You may get a request for id.
So no - it means absolutely nothing about your status as far as acceptance goes.
Unfortunately it does mean that things will probably take longer as you will probably need manual rather than automatic processing.0
