Aqua was part of Halifax but recently taken over by Progressive Credit (Sav Credit). My understanding is credit check etc is still being done by Halifax. Another strange aquacard.co.uk now goes straight to Marbles? MS

Strangely, for me it did do that so I clicked back onto Google and went on it agian and the normal website came up

There does not appear to be any reason why you couldn't spend, say, £500 on the card, clear that with a debit-card payment the next day, and then continue to spend more.

    .

I agree. I plan to pay for petrol / food etc on the card and then transfer the payment straight over from my bank account that evening or the following day. That way I wont get carried away with my bank account looking larger than it should:rotfl:and wont have to do extra budgeting to ensure I have enough put aside to pay the card at the end of the month

You'll have to wait until the transaction appears on your statement before you can do that (typically 2 - 3 days after the transaction), otherwise you'll be putting your account in credit, which is not permitted.

Just a side question really more about aqua, does anyone know who they are part of, what group? I can't really find anything on the internet apart from one thread on this forum alluding to the fact they're part of HBOS, is this correct?

When I spoke to them today regarding going on hols I was asked if I had any HBOS group cards going on hols with me!

Make the most of this card because there's no way they will continue giving cashback that is double the transaction fee they make from the retailer.

I give it 12 month maximum before they scrap this card and migrate everyone over to a card with no cashback but high APR.

    Anyone remember this card:

I think the card will stay, but they'll change the T&Cs in 6 months time to something like "Cashback is available at 3% for the first 6 months and 0.5% thereafter".

There business model seems to be, dangle carrot (3%), 35% apr for anyone who carries a balance or forgets to pay balance, forfeit all cashback for any late payers. This will likely pay for a lot of the people who use the card to its fullest.

However, with the current website site, maybe the T&Cs are changing already and the 3% was to just get some customers on board.
