It seems that all most people are getting from these cowboys is a string of lies and misinformation.

I wonder if they are doing this "it'll all be sorted out in a fortnight" (from whenever they are contacted) in the hope that people will just give up and they will have a nice little pot of bunce.

For my part if I have not been paid by the end of March I will be sending them a 'letter before action' to see if that will focus their minds. It won't cost me anything and will be the first step to possible small claims action.

(And before the usual suspects start up, yes, it is worth it.)

Same here, will give them to the end of March before sending a letter. Fed up with them now.

I've just phoned them as have had no cheque as yet. Got told that they should all be sent out by the 25th of March. But she has raised it with head office as nothing has been put down for me to recieve a cheque, which I should get. Suggested I phone in a week if I hear nothing more.

Just got home to find a letter from Aqua. Great, I thought. Until I opened it to find a monthly statement with a zero balance. No minimum payment required it says. They even still sent me an addressed envelope for if I wanted to send a cheque and paying in slip.

    Just another frustrating episode.

I got a letter from them yesterday. Not a cheque or a statement, but a response to my online secure message that I sent.

Well it wasn't a response. It thanked me for my query and asked me to telephone them!:rotfl:

I was tempted to put my envelope (empty) in the post without a stamp... :D

Though in all seriousness I doubt they'd pay to collect it.

Deposited my Aqua cheque with account number is 02063581 on 15th into a Nationwide account. It has cleared, as it should have been, yesterday/today.

Done and dusted! Or, as they say in South Africa, finished and klaar.
  • Still waiting for our cheque, statement dated 5th March saying Loyalty award credited 21st Feb, credit balance refund 4th March. Will give it another week as they obviously have a lot of these cheques to send out.

I have just received a call from someone purporting to have been from Aqua. They said before they could talk any further I needed to give my security information (address, d.o.b., password, etc, etc)
I pointed out that they called me!

They said yes, but they needed to be sure they were talking to the account holder.

I said I needed to be sure they were who they said they were. The best they could do was to say yes they were and they were responding to a recent letter. (well that could have been a lucky guess that I wrote a letter recently)
I suggested if they had a letter from me, they should probably respond in writing to it.

They said they could resolve the issue in less than 5 minutes on the phone. I invited them to go ahead. They then asked for my security details again.

I told them I'm not giving them to anyone who has phoned me. I suggested they put their response in writing.

I hope I get a better response than you got.

Wouldn't it be more of a concern if they had started talking about your account WITHOUT checking any details?

If you were concerned then you could have phoned aqua yourself and got it dealt with there and then...

I always offer to phone back, using the number on the back of my card, and they're always happy with this. What's odd is why they persist in phoning up and asking for security details, even though all the advice is never to give any information out to any caller, no matter who they claim to be.
