I deposited my cheque on Saturday (15th) so only expecting to know if it clears tomorrow some time. At the moment my account is still showing an available balance without the £100.

    On tenterhooks....

Anyone else just received an email stating that they can now receive statements as "Paper statement or E-Statement" and asking them to login to update their personal details ?

No email, but was presented with a screen to this effect when I logged in a few days ago.

I still have a credit limit and next statement date on the Aqua site ...
    Interesting.

My last snailmail statement (10 March 14) showed a nil balance and 'Available to spend £0.00'. That's the end of that, I thought.

I just checked my online statement and see that the available spend amount is the same as my credit limit. And the next statement date is 10 Apr 14. Oo er.

I was one of those that didn't sign up for the new card. When they texted me asking me to call, they agreed to send me a copy of the letter requesting the new card. It didn't arrive, nor did the replacement. The third one arrived, though. (perhaps it was the first.) I returned it but they say they didn't receive it, and a snailmail letter told me the account was closed and there was nothing that could be done.

I'm not sure it's worth going through the hoops, even though the card is available for new applicants..

    Interesting.

    I don't think so.
I think they are just being slow at closing the accounts down.
It's usually a low priority task and Aqua are now known to be a shambles.
It will simply take time for them to close the accounts and get it reported to CRAs, I don't think that should negatively affect anyone if nothing is going through them.
No company that I know of prioiritises the housekeeping of old accounts, so nothing unusual.

I received my statement from Aqua yesterday, showing my cashback credit, and my final payment to the account bringing the balance to zero. Big bold letters stating "No payment required".

As far as I'm concerned this is my final statement and the account is now closed. I expect to hear nothing more from them.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

It seems that all most people are getting from these cowboys is a string of lies and misinformation.

I wonder if they are doing this "it'll all be sorted out in a fortnight" (from whenever they are contacted) in the hope that people will just give up and they will have a nice little pot of bunce.

For my part if I have not been paid by the end of March I will be sending them a 'letter before action' to see if that will focus their minds. It won't cost me anything and will be the first step to possible small claims action.

(And before the usual suspects start up, yes, it is worth it.)

OK, but in my case, my available spend has gone from £0 to £1,000 in a matter of days.

    Curious.
