I received my cheque today drawing on the same account number (dated 12th March). I won't be anywhere near a bank for a few days but perhaps someone can confirm this is not the correct account number (seems not to be according to boobbby's post).ffacoffipawb wrote: »The account number on my cheque is 02063581, so I guess mine's a deliberate dud? NO point traveling to the bank to pay this in.0 -
There are a couple of sites that say they validate account numbers if you have the sort code too.

Yes, I've just posted a link to one of those in another thread. The problem is the postcodeanywhere site contradicts what has been said in this thread (i.e. it thinks the 020 account number is the valid one and the other one is invalid). It would be nice to confirm which is correct. There are a couple of sites that say they validate account numbers if you have the sort code too.

Both of these concur the 02063581 number is valid and 00263581 is not.0 -
My bank wouldn't accept my cheque today. They said it's the serial number that is the problem. Should be 6 numbers but is 7.
I called Aqua and they confirmed that some cheques (not all) have this problem. New ones are being sent out by 25th March apparently....0 -

I wonder how long it'll be until someone issues a small claims court writ against them? LolI spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
