What a joke !!
Looks like Aqua are really in a shambles. I too am owed cashback and thought there was hope when I saw that cheques were being received. Looks like the checks are made of rubber.
Wonder if a mention by :money: on the main website would help focus Aqua's attention ?0 -
Well I've just received my cheque, am I understanding correctly that they've been issued incorrectly? Should I not pay this into the bank - will it be rejected. Has everyone's been rejected or is it only some which are dodgy?
I think I'll hold off paying it into the bank until I see a few more posts on this issue...
Aqua - what an absolute farce.0 -

I'd pay it in anyway, if it bounces then it's aqua's problem re charges etc. Just take a copy/photo of it first in case you need to reference it later.
That's what I'll be doing if mine ever turns up anyway.0 -
Ok!! seems some cheques were sent out with a 7 digit account number and these will bounce. New correct cheques are being issued automatically. Cheques with 6 digit account numbers should be ok. They say it also takes 5 to 10 days to receive your cheque as most where sent on the 12th March0

Mine took 3 attempts before the atm would accept it - looking at the receipt it is an 8 figure account number!0

Yes, mine was too. I suspect it should be 002xxxxx. In fact, it's 020xxxxx. If it's 002xxxxx, then that becomes a 6-digit number.
If you see what I mean. I can't actually make out the account number on my deposit slip as it (the ATM) took a photo of the cheque, and the number is not really visible.
Wish this could all be done and dusted now.0 -
We were supposed to get these funds credited to our accounts weeks ago.
Then they delayed until the last bill was paid leaving us in credit.
Then they issued wrong numbered cheques - another delaying tactic?
Are they dishonest or incompetent?
The account number on my cheque is 02063581, so I guess mine's a deliberate dud? NO point traveling to the bank to pay this in.
What an aquashambles.0 -
I deposited the cheque on Friday - was expecting it to be rejected today but all is well -so far.0

Why will a 7 digit account number cause a cheque to bounce???
My own account number is/was 7 digits and my cheques only had the 7 digit number on until recently (well maybe a bit longer than recently, but definitely this century) where they now include a leading zero. I remember being advised that I may need to add a leading zero to satisfy some computer systems that require 8 digits. e.g. when setting up a DD online.
