    I haven't received a PM. :(

Hun wait til the head engages at around 34-38 weeks, it will take the pressure off your ribs but you'll be on the toilet every 2 mins especially at night...

Remember what I told you for heartburn, Trebor extra strong mints, they really work I promise...
I always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...

    Hi everyone

I just thought I would share my story with you all about a rather bizarre experience I had in Asda car park a few weeks ago which upset me greatly. I have osteogenisis imperfecta (brittle bones) as a result of this I have a very severe kyphosis scoliosis which causes my upper spine to stick out a lot. Anyway my dad was getting me out of the car whle my mum got the wheelchair out the boot and this man in his late 50sish marches up to me and says I am faking my disability and thres Nothing wrong with me . I am to young to be disabled and must have got my blue badge fraudulently
My dad pointed out my conditions to him (thy are very obvious ) and the man said I must have stuffed something up my back to cause the hump!! I then told him to feel it he did and walked off saying I was a useless scrounger !!! I was so pest by this my parents had to take me home I'm still pretty upset now. Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing ?
Fortunately not, were someone to approach me and dare preach such drivel about my disabled Son, making his spine match, would be the very least of his troubles.

  • One of the few days my old man gets out of the house is his monthly visit to the hair dressers which I accompany him on.

He has quite severe spinal problems and his mobility really isn't great at all. From the car park we use to the hair dresser takes is about 30 minutes to walk to, I could do it my self in about 5. The car park we use is quite long, walking from one end to the other where they disabled bays are can add a extra 20 minutes. Plus there is no where for him to sit down if he needs a rest and no hand rail in case he stumbles so I did used to park in the disabled bays to make things easier for him.

Normally I get my hair cut first and return to the car and drive down the hair dressers to pick him up outside. What is a 5 minute or so walk turns into a 20 min drive by the time I navigate all the one way systems.

Anyway this one time I returned to the car and had a mini Hitler traffic warden have a right go at me for using a blue badge, demanding to know my reasoning for having one and threatening to report me for fraud. Unsettled and worried me quite allot in case he did loose it.

Also had a similar situation on a bus. I had a broken ankle after a rather large lady in a mobility scooter had rode over my foot in HMV.(story for a different day).

I sat on one of the single seats at the front of the bus which are meant for the disabled and elderly. Im the kind of person who would give up a seat to some one in more need of it than my self regardless of it being a special seat or normal one.

Some woman got on the bus with her brood of kids and demanded I gave up my seat for one of them because they had ADHD.

Not being one for confrontation and knowing I was only a stop or 2 away from home I stood up and hobbled over to the push chair storage thing where I had placed my crutches.

The looks of disgust other people on the bus gave her were quite a good comeuppance. Another lady stood up and offered me her seat and the bus driver got out of his cabin to come see what was wrong.

I just said it doesn't matter im getting off soon anyway not worth the aggravation. Stood there and took the pain wile every 1 else on the bus looked down on her shaking their heads.

I found people could be quite aggressive when little DS had a blue badge. I'd get out and again and again people would come running over to point out it was a disabled space. I actually only used them because I needed the extra width to get DS out into the wheelchair. With him being little I couldn't get him out and then park.

At Christmas we had two extremes of the elderly in one day. On the bus going to hospital I gave up my seat for someone but told DS to sit where he was, knowing it was going to be a long day for him. We got filthy looks from a lady (who probably did need a seat but there were other people who could move and seats further back). When I went to get DS off the bus I realised the woman had put her big shopping bag on his lap - he hadn't liked to say anything!
On the train on the journey back in rush hour he was pale and tired. An elderly lady could see he was struggling and got up and offered him her seat. This had a knock on effect as someone gave her his seat.
A real bit of kindness that probably made the difference between him being able to go to school the next morning or not. Lovely lady.

I keep getting glared at when I use the lift in Sainsburys :(

They have an upstairs cafe, and I can't cope with the journey there, shopping trip (it's a huge store) and journey home without having a sit down in between. Sometimes even 2 - one before and one after shopping - if it's a bad day. But I also really can't cope with the stairs up to the cafe! So I use the lift, but if it's a pre-shopping sit down I don't even have a full trolley to take in the lift with me, and people seem to think this is wrong.

I don't get funny looks any more. I think I must be getting old. Or just look like I am!

OP ignore it, I imagine there's not a single BB holder it hasn't happened to at some point. At least you had a proper reason to be out and about, how sad and pathetic some people's lives must be if watching disabled parking days is their main form of entertainment.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

My 13 year old has a blue badge due to a whole host of learning and developmental problems yet to look at him (if you look past his impulsiveness, swearing and general looking a bit of an asbo) he is completely normal.
My parents live on a road where every house seems to have atleast 3 cars and it becomes proper parking space wars after 5pm, if we come round and theres nowhere to park in the evening I have to park on double yellows at the end of the road where its a dead end with his badge on display.
The other week I got back to the car and someone had put a loveletter under my wiper, slap bang on top of the blue badge, asking me not to park there again and not to park on lines... I was raging at how inconsiderate it was. Didnt know wether to laugh or cry at the fact they were clearly bitter that I was parked outside their house when they werent allowed to, nevermind id happily park in the next street if it meant my son had no need for the badge.

You have to feel slight pity for those who feel hard done by because they think theyre missing out when they have to walk a few extra feet to get in a shop etc, if it makes them feel a bit better by questioning someone being disabled let them have their smug 5 minutes. Narrow minds and tiny lives....
