Nosey people and blue badges.

Yes, and you have evidence this was the case? When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

I don't need to have evidence, I'm somebody posting on an internet forum.
So the likelihood of the van having a blue badge is next to nil.
When I post something I like to make sure what I say has some evidence or basis in fact, rather than some vacuous speculation which seems to be your trademark.
Some of your pronouncements on the disabled, and people on benefits can be quite arrogant, rude and just wrong!0 -
this thread was started to comment on what someone felt was a nosey person with regard to a disability space.
General consensus seems to be that nobody should dare ask anyone to have a look at their BB if they are parked in a BB space. In other words, don't make assumption because you can't immediately see a disability.
Then someone else comes and posts, moaning about a guy in a PO van parking in a disabled space. Making assumptions he shouldn't be there, making assumptions he had no disability or blue badge and took it upon herself to report him to his superiors.
Then someone else posts they know of a Postman, who drives a postvan, who has a disability.
Don't make assumptions applies to everyoneWhen your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

Exactly and the point has been made of van drivers having blue badges. People can still have badges and be in a fortunate position that their health does not preclude them from being in employment. Blue Badges may help them actually stay in a place of work, and they will use them in the line of their duties. There is nothing wrong with that at all.0 -
Hi guys I've just come back on to check the thread and wow loads of comments i can't believe it! I started this thread so could share my experience with you all and now i feel like I've opened up some national debate on blue badges! I would just like to say to those commenting that people should be allowed to challenge a person with a BB that please consider what you are doing first there are a lot of very frightened disabled people out there at the moment and what happened to me really upset me and caused me a few sleepless nights ( silly i know ). thank you everyone else for your kind comments to i appreciate the support0

I will just repeat what I've said
If there is a person with a blue badge then back off it's up to authorities to challenge if needs be
Hell go talk to the local traffic/street warden (oh no they're classed as evil too aren't they >.< the fact they're not is missed by most)
But unless you know for sure they're defrauding the system no one off the street has any right to challenge someone "just because they don't look Ill"I love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

Sorry to fan the flames here but I went to the local theatre the other evening where they have a large car park with half a dozen or so disabled spaces which are generally full by the time we get there ( I don't like hanging around early in the foyer sitting level with so many people's backsides if you know what I mean..)

As a matter of course I am being nosy on the way in to check that there are blue badges on the dashboards, which is always so. When we left the theatre the other night it was logical to hang back until there was plenty of space to get me and wheelchair into the car (and avoid the rain) when I was surprised to see four members of staff getting into the two cars left in the disable bays. Of course there could be several reasons why they qualify for a blue badge - one of them may even suffer from ombrophobia, but the old cynic in me thinks that someone is extracting the urine here. Now according to some folks on here I should be minding my own business and leaving it to the authorities!! I have no rights querying peoples validity as anybody (theatre ushers included) may have hidden disabilities and after all it is dark and a bit cweepy by the time they leave...

All BB users are equal; but some are more equal than others0 -

Take the time to complain to the cinema manager. Last time I did it (same reason - staff parking in BB spaces) they sent me a complimentary ticket. However, when I went back to use it the same car was parked in a BB space - sometimes you just can't win!0 -

Our local hospital has one car parked there every shift, no blue badge and I often watch the nurse running out to her car. I have also seen a consultant parking in them again displaying no badge. If these 'professionals' have no understanding of what needing a blue badge space entails, what hope is there?I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.
