Hmm. I had the audacity to wear a strapless dress and be short and curvy with big boobs and arms.
    how very rude of me...

It's a "no" from me! I haven't got particularly huge boobs, but they need the hoik of a good bra. I've got a really good strapless bra that I deploy when the outfit demands, but I reeeeaaaally couldn't be bothered wearing a strapless dress all day - I'd be paranoid that it was slipping down and making me look, ahem, "low-set" :o

Lol, there does seem to be a few upset or indignant ladies replying.

If you were happy with your choices ladies then that's all that matters, just because some of us feel a strapless dress isn't the most flattering garment for certain shapes does not mean that's the case for everyone. :)

I always thought I didn't want a strapless dress, partly because I've never thought strapless tops suit me, and partly because thats what the majority of brides wear.
However, I tried one on and I have to admit it looked lovely on.
But in the end, I wanted something different to the masses, so I had one with chiffon straps.

This. It all comes down to whatever style of dress makes you feel good. There's a few ladies here saying that they thought they would choose a different style of dress than they ended up buying, which to me is a good thing.

Okay - on a sensible note. I don't think anyone is disputing that there are some shapes that a strapless dress doesn't suit. Just as there are some shapes halterneck dresses don't suit etc etc etc. And yep I will hold my hands up and say when I see brides I don't know on the internet I do look at photos in a more clinical view and may pass judgement about what 'suits' them. But that being said I think what has irked some of us is the generalised 'strapless dresses don't suit anyone' comments.

I am a short arsed big boobed lady (I'm 5ft2.5, wedding dress is a size 8, but I normally wear a size 10, and I have FF/G boobs) which according to some of you should mean strapless dresses shouldn't suit me. In my opinion (which lets face it is the only one that matters) my dress looks amazing on me. I didn't go out looking for a particular neckline. I fell in love with it because of the amazing silhouette it gives me.

Completely agree. I'm a size 12 with F cup boobs. The dresses I tried on with straps didn't suit me as they just seemed to emphasise my 'assets' even more. As it is , my dress is strapless and I love it. I must say, reading this thread has wobbled me slightly BUT I know I fellt amazing with it on (went back to the shop twice to make sure of it), and once it's altered to fit me perfectly I'll be making sure I feel comfortable and if there's any doubt, I'd consider adding straps but I don't feel its necessary.

I also hate poorly fitting dresses of any description. Believe me, I'd look ten timea worse in a Jenny Packham slinky low cut number (with sleeves) than a strapless dress!
